Canelo might take an absolute beating OFF from Kovalev. Fapfapfapfap. But that's about it.
Does anyone else think Canelo is going to take an absolute beating against Kovalev?

Good point. No I don't think it's accurate in terms of fair judging but they most likely factored in the Canelo A side magic. I'm thinking they figure if Canelo can get to the end of the fight without being rocked badly in several rounds he's got the win.Comment

I expected Floyd to win.. but no, I do not think those odds were bad. Floyd was retired for 2 years and 40 years old fighting a bigger man. That's dangerous no matter who it is. Point is that odds are very close to the perfect market, when the odds are bad, there will be someone to take advantage of the obvious arbitrage. Keyword is obvious. You forgot to mention that Conor isn’t actually a boxer lol who cares how high he was riding in a different sport. Despite Floyds age, Conor having 33% chance of winning wasn’t realistic and you know it. Seems like you’re just saying that to defend the point.
Using the betting odds as a sole reason for dismissing Kovalev winning is what I don’t really understand, what do you actually think of the matchup?
As for this matchup as a whole.. I wrote a description in another thread.. let me find it:
I expect Canelo to make easy work of Kovalev. It should play out very similarly to Rocky Fielding with a ~2 round lag. Meaning Canelo will play it safe for 2 boring rounds while getting a measure of Kovalev, then start countering Kov downstairs before connecting up top in mid rounds.Disagree with most of the basis of your analysis. Kovalev is not "much taller" than Kovalev. He's 6", or 2 inches taller than Golovkin was. He has similar reach to Golovkin (same between 70-75" estimated"), and arguably similar skill and power. Most people thought G's jab was better for most of their careers. But fans are fickle, and since G just got outjabbed by SD, while Kovalev knocked out Yarde by a "jab", most fools will claim that Sergey's jab is infinitely better.Comment

Exactly, I already see a robbery coming. Only way is by several knock downs to make it impossible for the judges to pull something shady or KO Canelo because this is Vegas we are talking about and the "cash cow" always gets the nod UNLESS its taken out of the judges hands.350 million dollar investment in Canelo by DAZN. Vegas likes him because he brings the money to town. He's the centerpiece for the WBC. Gee I wonder what's going to happen if it goes to the judges?? Kovalev has to stop him (win)or knock him down numerous times (risky) to win a decision.Comment

Normally a big man like Kov willl beat the crap out if a smaller boxer but Canelo isnt your tipical fighter and Kov is older fighter now. It it was 5 years ago. Kov would of killed Canelo. Not so sure now.Comment

- -U washed up Hitman Tommy wannabe? It's amazing how many people here are brushing off this fight saying that kovalev is washed up. Yeah he looks washed up against fighters in his own weight class.
I have a feeling that Canelo is going to take an absolute beating. Weight classes exist for a reason. Massive respect to Canelo for taking this fight though with no catchweight and going to full 175. But this is going to get uglyComment

Whatever happens, I hope both fighters are going to leave it all in the ring. btw Canelo is already up on the scorecardsComment

I thin past the 6th round it's possible.
Canelo moves so well but he can slow down later rounds. kovalevs jab..
Also, canelo thinking body shots were the Ward blue print? 80% of those "body" shots were clear low blows...I don't think kov is as soft to body as people thinkComment
