Why would GGG have to "one up" Canelo?

GGG already turned Canelo into the biggest coward in Mexico by making him drop his belt out of pure fear of a prime GGG.

GGG also exposed Canelo as a drug cheat who was so desperate he took PEDs to have a chance vs GGG.

Canelo right now is running from GGG to face a guy who GGG already made quit in sparring.

If you were an actual boxing fan you would know this, but unless you are a manipulated casual sheep you surely ignore all of this and actually believe Canelo beat GGG.

From watching AB I just think someone with a good strong jab could trouble him...GGG's best trait was always his jab imo, and if he/someone could land a strong jab consistently, it would be interesting to see if it could slow AB down...so far in his career he seems content to eat a few shots to get inside and once he gets in there he is just too much, and I can't imagine GGG doing very well inside either vs him.

Just thinking of what style could really trouble AB...if you don't have enough power to slow him down, he will get inside and take your shots and deliver his...I'm thinking a gameplan like Jacobs/Canelo (1st fight) tried to employ vs GGG would be interesting...box off the back foot, don't really engage, try to pick your spots and go 12 rounds and see where you come out.

Similar to what SRL did (imo to great effect) vs Hagler...box and move and don't stand in front of him...but the I think the best/maybe only way to really nullify AB is to find him with the jab and make him box neutral/on the back foot...if you just try to box and move he will just walk you down if you can't hit him with something solid...if you can't slow him down then his power/pressure is too much for almost anyone around that weight...and he is just great on the inside once he gets there.

From watching some of the fight last night (haven't watched it all) the Nail is obviously bigger than GGG but I don't think he honestly hits as hard as GGG even now..with AB's size and seeming ability to keep pretty good distance I don't think it would be easy for GGG to land the jab consistently...but I would like to see someone with a good jab try and fight him like that.

He and Kovalev apparently had good/disputed fights in the amateurs as well and I can kind of see why...if Kov boxes behind his jab he could control the fight...but once AB gets past that he would be in control...I think at this point with Kov's gas tank issues it would be a longshot for him to beat AB right now though.
Usyk did beat him in the amatuers and I believe won two of the three meetings. But Usky has the size, length and overall boxing ability to handle Beterbiev. I don't think Beterbiev is unbeatable or anything, but if he is able to manhandle you on the inside and has the big size advantage? You have no chance. I actually think Bivol is a bad match up for Beterbiev and will have a good chance if they ever fight.

Golovkin's power for the most part never really impacted his top level opponents. Sure he got KDs against both Derevyanchenko and Jacobs, but both fighters got up and didn't get badly hurt again. I don't think his power is going to have all THAT much affect on Beterbiev.

I don't know about this version of Kovalev, but the one from about three to four years ago would be very tough for Beterbiev. Heck, he still will be tough NOW.

Once Golovkin lost his speed and snap on his punches, he wasn't quite the same puncher. He still has naturally thudding punches, but he isn't the puncher he used to be. When he was younger and had the speed to go with his natural heavy hands, his power was much more devastating. His power was constantly opening up cuts and injuring guys in his earlier days. If Golovkin still had that kind of power, he'd be dangerous as hell.

LOL GGG doesn't have the courage to take up such a challenge. He doesn't even want to fight the killers in his own division except for a canelo pay day, so what makes you think he is going to go for a killer that is bigger and stronger than him? He is a straight up pus*y. I am sorry, but he certainly has those tendencies.

Why would Golovkin challenge Beterbiev when he can fight a Steve Rolls instead?

Yeah I am definitely interested to see how AB does vs the other guys at 175...and where his career ends up...he is already getting up there in age but physically looks really good right now.

Yeah I don't think GGG looked good at all vs SD so I wouldn't personally use that performance as evidence that he would have a chance at any point against AB...he didn't work behind the jab for whatever reason...I do think when he works behind the jab it is really really good and he was able to control the action behind it vs Nelo in fight 1 and Jacobs...even vs Lemieux and Stevens on lower levels...keeping all of them at bay and on the back foot...I think that is what someone will have to do to AB to really have a good chance at winning.

Just from watching the fight last night I could see how OG ended up getting KOed because if you let AB walk you down in any way, he is just eventually going to get there...on his best day I don't know if GGG could be strong enough to keep AB at bay with his jab but I would have liked to have seen it, or to see someone with a good jab fight him...Kov is vulnerable and I imagine would get KOed late vs AB too, but I bet he would win some early rounds pretty clearly behind the jab and some 1-2s.

I don't know enough about Bivol to know if he has the toughness or skills to withstand Beterbiev...should be some good fights at 175 continuing to happen though.

To put it another way...when you are the guy walking the other guy down, you have the big advantage because the other guy is backing up and can't really sit on his punches...his power, if he has any, is really nullified...it becomes rather easy to walk through shots like that because the other guy's weight isn't behind it.

If OG could have landed a good strong jab last night to force AB to fight neutral or even back up, then he could have been the favorite to win last night...but AB's distance was too good/OG's jab was not good enough...it was just a matter of time before those bigger shots caught up with OG...I think he should have been feinting/throwing the jab all night just to get AB to back up some and control the distance/positioning better...from the positioning they were fighting in, AB was just going to land the bigger shots, OG was dancing around too much and not sitting on his punches.
