I agree the aim is to hit and not get hit, but I doubt anyone would accept a version of the sport that was purely points based. A fencing style version of boxing.

The reality is that when we say someone is 'hurt' and the fighter goes in for the stoppage, his opponent has been buzzed, dazed, concussed, or whatever word you want to use. In that situation we encourage further blows to the head when the fighter's at a point where other sports would be calling for treatment.

Right, right. It is definitely a controversial issue, or maybe the waters will calm and people may forget about this all. Who knows nowadays. But I think a good start might be lessening rounds.

Knocking your opponent out is the sweetest thing. It's the nature of the sport that so many people are against.
I wouldn't necessarily say that is the MAIN goal. The main goal is to win by points with clean shots. Example, there are many boxers who are not really power punchers, like Mayweather Jr., don't leave their opponents injured at all.

Exactly, they do have a voice man and influence. That is why I made a video on You Tube about it and posted here in the forum about the matter. I am not for banning the sport at all, but I do think some kind of safety measure can or should be taken.

The main goal is to land your punches and you want to hurt your opponent. Knocking out your opponent is the ultimate thing. Everytime you land a punch you can injure your opponent. Mayweather landing 100 headshots in a 12 round fight is not healthy. That can cause more damaged in the long run than being KO'd in the first round.
