What sport has the highest instance of CTE? Guess which sport CTE was the main research topic of? If you think CTE in boxing is bad, you must have never heard of the NFL?There's enough to go back & watch. It would take a lifetime.
If the sport gets Banned I'll watch all the old Great fights.
Cte is no joke!! I once thought it was ridiculous to ban boxing. I even did a school project in college.
I stand corrected, as I've gotten older I'm in favor of banning boxing.
It hurts more than helps. I love boxing & watch every weekend but it should be banned it's too brutal.
If you know someone who is punch drunk.. Then you'll see. It's no joke.Comment

Let's ban American football and hockey while we're at it too hey? Heck throw in every form of car racing too. Hell why are we driving cars at all? Too dangerous! We all have to walk nowComment

GOD Forbid If Patrick Day doesn't make it and we lose yet another fighter this year I do think the sport will be in a bit of a state of emergency as far as what can be done to maybe reduce damage to these fighters
Reduce Rounds? Refs stop fights much quicker when a guy is taking Clean Big Punches without returning and without at least avoiding some of them
Honestly, do we really need 12 Rounds to determine which fight is better. If anything going down to 8-10 Rounds might be a GREAT THING in a ERA in which the average viewer don't have a very good attention span anyway. Less rounds also could make fighters more entertaining with fighters knowing they only have 8-10 Rounds. Less Rounds=Less Damage I would think
but also Less Rounds also means MORE ACTIVITY from fighters because they would take less damage during fights

Patrick Day vs Charles Conwell was a 10 round fight. Knockout occured in 10th round.GOD Forbid If Patrick Day doesn't make it and we lose yet another fighter this year I do think the sport will be in a bit of a state of emergency as far as what can be done to maybe reduce damage to these fighters

None Championship Fights can easily go to 8 Rounds with Championship fights going to 10 Rounds. Yeah it was for a USBA Belt but that is not a real Championship.
Bad things happen LATE in fights because Fatigue settles and at that points guys are just UNABLE to protect themselves or slip punches so they get caught with clean and big shots and it is no way your punch resistance is as good that late in a fight
Adonis Stevenson 11th Round
Maksim Dadashev (RIP) 11th Round
Patrick Day 10th Round
Hugo Santillan (RIP) 10th Round
I mean lets be honest here, fights are TOO DAMN LONG! I get it, Hardcore Boxing Fans would be against it, in fact I remember some fans asking for 15 Rounds to comeback but we're not the ones fighting they are. Hell go down to 6-8 Rounds if they have to
I think less Rounds would even make for more entertaining fights because both fighters would have to fight with more urgency
Really don't need 10-12 Rounds to determine who is the better fighterLast edited by sicko; 10-16-2019, 03:29 PM.Comment

Yeah I wasn't disagreeing with you just misunderstood I guess. Obviously you'd know the specifics of it all talking about it with that type of concern.None Championship Fights can easily go to 8 Rounds with Championship fights going to 10 Rounds. Yeah it was for a USBA Belt but that is not a real Championship.

Good point man. Similar concept of the right to carry guns. People crying ban them ban them when cars and other things kill people more.Comment

Well said, I have been saying some kind of change may happen soon in the sport:GOD Forbid If Patrick Day doesn't make it and we lose yet another fighter this year I do think the sport will be in a bit of a state of emergency as far as what can be done to maybe reduce damage to these fighters
