175 in the ring is not weighing 175. Canelo weighs in at 154-160 and then balloons up with water weight to 170 or more, yes. But Canelo hasn’t been “175” for a while, just cause he comes in as that in the ring. Scale weight and in ring weight are two different things. I can’t believe the nonsense I read here regularly.

Your right 5lbs is huge when gaining and taking of muscle.
Why is it that he couldn't make 160 to fight GGG years ago when he was a fully grown man but now can jump from 160-175?
Im just trying to get my head around it.
These are good questions and past couple days I asked the same thing. Moreso about the arrangement of matchmaking vs the weight, but of course is important weight circumstance. At 160, who else can Canelo fight now that he raised the bar with Kovalev, should he win?

So, Charlo ain’t gonna fight Canelo. What does he offer Canelo? Who did he beat? Andrade? I’m more interested in Andrade vs Charlo. I don’t like how DAZN used their power to sabotage Canelo’s destination for Undisputed with Andrade.

Then I wondered, was Fieldind and Jacobs original plans to take on Kovalev given Danny’s speed or how Canelo needed to find how how he can shift a big guy like Fielding when throwing power punches.

So then I conclude, should Canelo beat Kovalev. I foresee a Smith vs Canelo or Canelo vs Bivol at 168. there must be a reason behind the scenes why Bivol is yelling 168 for any smoke with any other fighter. This is what I see is available now on DAZN’s roster for 2020+.

As far as the weight, people don’t realize it just means Canelo doesn’t have to drain water like before which in theory gives a fighter great performance in the ring.

I’ll just say people will be surprised how much smaller Canelo will be against Kovalev. Expect Canelo to move around as he did against GGG 1. At this point he doesn’t care what critics will say about his gameplan. Canelo needs to be Ultra A game with defense in this fight. Team Canelo are betting on the defense.

          You hating ass punk!
Because I have seen the entirety of canelo career, defending the lmw belt above the lmw limit, winning the lmw title at a CW and corrupt judges scoring two fights against ggg.

... the rehydration clause may exist in the signed contract -- which isn't public...

A rehydration clause would have been fine with Kovalev but what would have been the point? Kovalev will be well under 185 in the ring anyway.

Kovalev isn’t that big and Canelo isn’t that small both will be about 180.

the way he is talking about weight lifting and adding more weight for power and strenght i think is going to mess up his stamina even more, carrying around more weight is always going to affect specially if you are not used to the weight... if he weights 175 the day before and then stays around the same on fight night then i will have no issue with that...

Its either Canelo knock Kovalev out through body punch or he get outbox by Kovalev...
