If he doesn't accomplish this in 4-6 rounds,he's going to be a be a smaller yarde 2.0 and gas halfway through. If he actually wanted to build effective muscle,he needs a ton of resistance training, and possibly add some Olympic style lifting which would increase his explosive power.
      Nice post!

I was thinking he actually might benefit more if he came in as a MW more than a LHW.

      vs

I go back at those GGG fights, in the first one he bulked up a ton, his workrate was inferior to the rematch, he actually had a better performance coming in lighter, with more movement and punch output.

I'm thinking he should come into the ring @176 like his fight against Jacobs.

+ If he were to bulk up a lot more, he's gonna have a difficult time coming back to MW.

Barry Sanders was 5’8 and 200lbs Prime.

Canelo has never been as big as him. Walk around weight Canelo is like 182lbs.

Grinds in the gym for a fight and loses about 8lbs. He then sheds off about 13-14lbs of water to hit 160.

Canelo now doesn’t have to worry about water loss which is a huge advantage in performance. Though if Canelo is lifting weights, means he doesn’t have to cut general mass in the gym. I think Canelo will be 178lbs in the ring, ready to go. 6lbs from his general walk around weight. In theory this was post Floyd protocol.

The X Factor is still how well Canelo Can take a punch from a serious LHW with mean intentions. Not an easy fight for Canelo for the fact that we need to see how much Canelo respects the Krusher’s power.

This is 5’8 Barry Sanders at 200lbs. Anthony Yarde drains like a UFC fighter.

Mind blown how many posters seemingly dont understand how weigh ins and cutting work.

Of course Canelo is going to weigh in at 175. Why the *** would any fighter ever cut more water than they have to?

How can so many posters not understand this or that Canelo has BEEN over 175 for years now.

Reading between the lines thats almost an admission that in the past he'd been putting on weight the wrong way i.e. PED's...

Oscar said the guy walks around at close to 190 and still would be cutting weight to fight at 175 on I believe the Mannix podcast

Props for no CW but what about rehydration clauses? No one has mentioned anything detailed about weight in this build up. I know something fishy is happening...but if I am wrong then Canelo should get all the credit in the world for even fighting Kovalev, let alone beating him.
