Mike Matulis South Carolina stand out football line backer turned pro 2017 , took a loss in just 5 fights or so , you really need natural ability to throw punches and he was much younger then 35. It is the era of big athletes so I guess he could have a chance but it's unlikely even at 6'5, Matulis was 6'6 and had been training a bit.

They say the best american heavyweights went to football. B. Marshall, if I'm talking about the right one, former WR, is 6'5 and 235lbs. He's got the size and weight.....question is does he have the skill set. Boxing isnt something you just learn and become effective at right away. Maybe MMA might suit him better. Look at the former dallas player.

I disagree, the old notion that you had to have started boxing earlier is not as relevant anymore because there's just not enough elite talent for that to be true anymore, antonio tarver,Adonis Stevenson, hell Luis Ortiz all started boxing in they mid to late 20s,Errol spence started at 15,if you can throw a punch and take one you can box,the start young stuff went out the window when boxing became one of the least popular sports

I have no illusions about the rugby teams though, a lot of countries rugby teams are cab driver level, and england are nowhere near as good as they think either, they just benefit from a small pool at the top. If rugby was really global they'd be f-ed.
To be fair, rugby is pretty global and everyone gets f-ed up (by New Zealand population 4.5M)

Marshall is a big dude he was the biggest wide receiver in the league idk how he would do in boxing but I’m pretty sure he could take some of the fat cans dubious and them be record padding with.

In the Rugby World Cup, 44 countries participated. And that included teams from "Scotland", "Wales", and "England".

The math works out as an "L" for rugby.

These yanks, man. He thinks boxing is easy until he gets sparked out. LMAO. That American dummy with a podcast, Schuabb, must have gassed him up because he once said boxing is easy and NFL players are tougher than boxers, lol.
Schaub regularly says really ****** stuff about many things and his boxing analysis is painful. He did play football, box and fight MMA professionally though so he might have some insight.

If his point was along the lines of 5 or 10% of the population has good athletic abilities, right now the best of the best of those are going to NFL (or NBA etc) instead of boxing, and if boxing was more popular or profitable and those cream of the crop athletes pursued boxing as kids/teens instead of football they would be better then the current crop of boxers I wouldn't necessarily disagree.

Thats a completely different argument than if the most athletic guys from the NFL took up boxing now they would dominate which I very much doubt.

Knowing Schaub it probably was the latter though.

I guess you don't know ENgland, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland participate in all sports as separate en****** apart from the Olympics and athletics, lol. Then again you're American, so it's not shocking.
