It’s a very weak claim for even a top 10 spot.

If having two belts and/or dropping Shawn Porter were criteria for becoming a top 5 fighter in the whole sport, the sport would be peculiar
I don't understand this logic. Brook was stopped.

It's the same when people say Mayweather-Hatton was competitive or Amir Khan was out boxing Canelo

Spence started slow before turning up the heat. Spence was the better man that night and finished Brook in front of his home crowd. How was this competitive given how it ended. Sounds like participation trophies and excuses to me

Spence just unified and is the biggest 147lber with all the physical advantages. Hes gonna be 30 and never moved up 1 weight class.

What happenes when he doesn't have the physical advantages? Does he do well against them like some othe rp4p fighters do?
I say he's not top 5 but that was my opinion prior to last weekends fight. He just hasn't beaten any real threats to prove he's top 5.

If they can do that, I don't think it should be held against Spence that Porter could do the same to him.

I think part of what greatness is about winning when you are not at your best or when you are forced into the other guy's type of fight and you find a way to win. I don't think this type of win in any way makes the hype about Spence unfair or too much. IMO it solidified him as one of the best in the world.
Before Floyd started cherrypicking the best time to fight the best guys he fought, he checkhooked undefeated Ricky Hatton into the ringpost fighting Ricky Hattons fight.

You have to consider that as you fight better fighters, going for the KO puts you in more danger of losing. Top tier guys can throw counters and set traps you are not used to.
No doubt...and as the fight neared I went from 'Spence by late stoppage' to more favoring just a clear 12 round win by Spence...I was just expecting a little more from him, but am interested to see his next few fights...I think part of my being 'down' on him is now I move the Crawford fight to edge to Crawford, and I always favored Spence there, until recently where I had it 50/50.
