You're saying Smith is overrated while talking about Benevidez? Priceless.

Benevidez needed two fights against a bum as the first fight was so close, and beat an old Dirrell who has done nothing late in the fight. But you think he gets a prime Smith out of there much quicker than those two even though he's the much superior fighter? Stop smoking glue. It's bad for you as it is. But to actually smoke the shlt? Well, you can vouch for that.

Who has Smith beaten, buddy? A shot George Groves, then?

He might have looked a little ineffective at times, but Benavidez gives you the idea of someone who can shift gears and end a fight whenever he chooses to.

This. Dirrell didn't force Benavidez to hafta step his game up. Benavidez had the fight going the way he wanted to putting pressure to break him down & Dirrell couldn't do anything to change it. He clearly stated that he didn't do anything more than he needed to & he still dominated the fight aside from a few of the early rounds when Dirrell was still fresh. Cut or no cut, Dirrell was just gonna get beat down the rest of the fight. Dudes acting like they saw the best of Benavidez or something. He had very little respect at all for Dirrell & Dirrell is a legit guy. & he's only 22. His real ability will show when someone can force him back & not allow him to walk them down while they're running for their life. Don't see anybody at 168 that can do that to him. Nobody is gonna outbox him all 12 rounds with that type of pressure on them.

Smith has beaten better than anybody else in the division other than Saunders who beat some good fighters at 160. Groves wasn't at his best, but he was still good. Benevidez struggled with a complete bum and a fighter in Dirrell who hadn't proven anything in his prime. So they're the ones who should be questioned. Anyone doing anything else needs to be laughed at. It's far too ironic for words.

David wasn't in danger in any moment... he's learning...

I'm not judging Benavidez exclusively on Dirrell (who, incidentally, would probably have beaten Groves as well IMO). And I'll grant you that - more than shot - Groves was not the same fighter after the shoulder problems.

I'm watching at the potential. To me, Benavidez has not yet shifted gears because he hasn't really needed to. OK, he struggled with Gavril. Name me a champion who never had an under-average night.

Smith is good - I'm not saying he is not - but before telling that he's the top dog in there I want to see him against someone who has a serious punch. My su****ion is that as soon as Benavidez hits him good, Smith will go.

I'll be the first to admit I was wrong if Smith wins instead. But my gut feeling is Benavidez inside the limit as of now.

... I did not want to "capitalize" on Anthony's injury, tbh... Benavidez actually was beyond that...
