After the punch that sliced Dirrel's eyelid in the 6th, THEN Benavidez finally stepped on the accelerator.

What would have happened, had Dirrell not been cut? This extended feel out period would have lasted the entire fight, and Benavidez was headed for a UD loss.

Him being 22 and Dirrell 34, Benavidez showed him WAY too much respect. When Benavidez actually attacked, he steamrolled Dirrell. He could have ended this fight in 3-4 rounds. For whatever reason, he chose not to...
This is the dumbest comment here.....Dirrel would have won hahahahahahaha

So it was fake blood??? This is the fight were Benavidez has thrown the least amount of body shots....Dirrell was basically running and hugging since round 4. Go watch ballet, dummy.

Dirrell' was in survival mode since round1, Benevidez should work on cutting off the ring, but he did what he had to do against an awkward man in survival mode

Dirrell is the CHAMPION! Unless your name is Tony Harrison, the onus is on the CHALLENGER to do enough to win! Up until that bad cut on Dirrell's eye, this was a UD title retain!

Smith, Plant & Benavidez. Good fights there.

Benavidez looked like a cruiserweight! Boxing should go back to fight-day weigh-ins. Some guys take rehydration to another level.

Like Anthony was going to let Benevidez run over him. These things take time, and shifting gears is a matter of distance. Dirrel was a good comeback win, but David should think about how he lost the title, before he brags about winning it back.

Its funny if you told me that Anthony Dirrel would of been the more accomplished fighter between him and his brother Andre early on in their careers I would of looked at you sideways. While he isn't as talented he is mentally tougher and that was enough for him to surpass his brother.

Benevidez looked awfully slow and very predictable
No clue how to cut the ring off
And seemed to be ok cruising through the fight
Most likely would of gotten the victory last night cause Dirrell was in survival mode but not a great tactic imo
Needs to step it up especially if someone like Canelo comes along which is looking more and more likely

You're saying Smith is overrated while talking about Benevidez? Priceless.

Benevidez needed two fights against a bum as the first fight was so close, and beat an old Dirrell who has done nothing late in the fight. But you think he gets a prime Smith out of there much quicker than those two even though he's the much superior fighter? Stop smoking glue. It's bad for you as it is. But to actually smoke the shlt? Well, you can vouch for that.
