I love listening to old guys like Breland who know the business. I don’t believe for a minute that Ruiz would take a payoff but I think one might be offered. His take on skill levels seems right to me too. I’m not so sure about Wilder /Ruiz though.
Ruiz’s skill level is so much higher than Wilder’s that I’m not sure Wilder could load up and catch Ruiz without getting caught first. I’m thinking that is a 50/50 fight.
That is a very insulting thing to day about Ruiz. I think he is full of it and he sounds punchy. I am really surprised he would make a public statement like that. He should have kept that opinion to himself. He can't take it back. If Ruiz wins he might be tempted to turn down a fight with Wilder because of this.
I dig Mark, but that seems a lil crazy town. Sh^t man at this level there is more money in Andy winning then taking a dive.
And f#ck man how much does a dive cost when you are making 8 digits like I believe Andy is getting. Or they gonna have to give Andy 5% of AJ from here out lol. Doesnt seem cost effective.
If you doing dives you doing it to build a guy into a name or for a sellable guy who cant fight to get him into a big fight.
That said I think dives are more of a movie thing than a real boxing think. Sh^t man 90% of fights are setup fights as is. Got a 20-0 guy vs a 13-6 guy. You dont gotta fake a W. You are setting up 90/10 fights all day at no extra cost already.
