    ---Edit---

Actually, I guess it shows him giving those instructions in the video.

Pretty funny how Yarde's trainer says body. Sounds like buddy. Go to the buddy. Buddy! Buddy! Buddy! Haha. Just his accent I guess. I will say that that was a crazy move before the 8th round where he told Yarde to empty the tank going after Kovalev. It didn't work but damn, he got close and I admire the strategy of actually going for the glory rather than just laying back all twelve. He damn near put Kov away.

Of course, Kovalev showed a lot of heart, too. Excellent fight. I'm not counting Kovelev out on November 2. I think some people forget how he's been able to bounce back in tough situations which every fighter can't do. It should be interesting but yeah. Buddy was telling him to stay on that body. I think it's always a good strategy. And as we've seen with Kovalev and with Keith Thurman a lot of guys can't take it to the body so well. It's bound to wear anybody down.

Experiences boxers use to hit the arms to get the guard down. Five rounds of blows to the arms begins to take its toll. Arms begin to go down and blows to the head follow.

Yea man. I feel like a bad fan knowing that I haven't watched this fight yet. Seems like it was a good one. I'm still getting used to watching fights Saturday night. I lived overseas so long that I actually became used to watching fights Sunday mornings (which was kinda cool since I could go out every Saturday night).

Now I find myself trying to remind myself to look out for fights on Saturday night, and canceling plans because of boxing. Actually had plans to take out a fine lady this Saturday night, and pushed it to Sunday when I remembered it's Spence vs. Porter. Such is life.

Just have to find those chicks that watch boxing, then I'll be all set

Haha. Man, it's hard to find a chick who likes watching any sport but especially boxing. I think there's a few of them out there but good luck. Haha.

I can see where the schedule would be different in other countries, though. Nothing wrong with that. I know the Brits are watching fights over there when it's the afternoon here in the states. Where did you live? Europe? Asia? Australia? Are you a Jeff Horn fan? Haha.

Yeah, I'm hoping Spence and Porter is a great fight. I don't really care who wins although I think Spence has got it. I just hope it's a great fight. And of course, it's always great to see a unification fight.

Good luck on your date man, and she swtiched to Sunday? She sounds pretty cool to me. Hope it works out!

I was living in Asia. Mostly in South Korea. It was actually pretty nice watching Sunday mornings, except that I'd sometimes have a slight hang over. Sometimes not so slight. lol. All there is to do is drink there. When you look at countries with the biggest drinking problem, it's something like: Eastern European Country, Eastern European Country, South Korea, Eastern European Country, Eastern European Country

Yea, I think she so willingly switched it up because Monday is Rosh hashanah so most people have off from work, and one of my best friends plays in a Jazz band every Sunday night, so it worked out that I can just take her to see some live jazz, though I almost smacked her when she said she doesn't really like Jazz. She quickly said that she's still open to checking it out, so it was all good

I had some chicks that would watch boxing with me, but they would never be fans. I thought one chick might really get into it because she thought David Lemieux was pretty hot. But I warned her "....he's fighting GGG. He won't be so hot by the end of this fight."

I doubt she ever watches another fight.

LOL. Oh, man. I can imagine the disappointment with the GGG fight. Lemiuex got tore up there. She would have loved the Spike O'Sullivan fight.

Yeah, I'm not a huge jazz fan but I can enjoy it sometimes. I have to be in the right mood, though. Chet Baker and Miles Davis and all those guys were pretty damn amazing. They would get so into their music, zen-like. I've always admired that. When everything's just second nature and nothing else in the world matters. That's passion and it's always amirable. I saw where they did a biopic on Baker with Ethan Hawke. Been meaning to check it out. I like on the preview where Miles Davis is watching him and says you need to go live some more. Definitely made me want to watch it more. Must be pretty cool to see a jazz band every Sunday night though. I wish we had that around here in Tennessee.

Haha, yeah I think Belarus is the like the drinking capital. I guess they just don't have much going on. Of course, the States has plenty of it too but you just have to watch yourself. I like my beer but I keep it to a minimum and just chill out. Been that way for a long time. Had my partying days but that's done and I'm glad. I like this new phase of life of focusing on work and more so on health than I used to. Makes me feel better for sure and I like being productive and of course, that image helps with the ladies that I want. If she's a party girl, I'm not interested. They have too much drama and try to be one of the guys and well, that doesn't work out long term or so I've seen.

But yeah, that sounds like you have a very cool weekend lined up. I'm looking forward to October personally. Beterbiev-Gvodzdyk and then the Breaking Bad movie and the Joker movie along with the World Series. Should be a great month for sure.

Spot on! My partying days are over. In Korea it was kind of like a, when in Rome thing. Plus, though my girlfriends were almost all Korean, most of the people I hung out with were foreigners, and that's what they were into. It was fun while it lasted, but I'm also enjoying a much simpler life now. Smoke a bit of weed every now and then, but I don't really drink at all. Just occasionally when I go out.

Damn, you are right. A great month coming up. How did I not know there will be a Breaking Bad movie? I rarely watch "television," but I did download that serious and watch it. The only series I've watched completely besides "The Wire" and most recently "Atlanta." And now you also got me wanting to listen to some Chet and Miles. Good stuff, bro. My best friend is a Jazz musician and the guy that plays here in NY is a really good friend, so I could be a little biased. But at least they play the "real Jazz" and not the corny shlt that you'll find that seems like elevator music.

Happy we could have a good convo after the last run in. Much respect, and no hard feelings!

You guys do know those are not considered "Landed Punches" right? So you're basically wasting punches and stamina punching at arm and they don't even count but it is a good strategy to try and break through someone with a good high guard

They're typically done at the shoulder, not forearm (such as breaking through). And, the payoff is when the opponent's output diminishes.
Like I said though, I don't think it's effective with modern gloves. You can't do enough damage for it to pay off most of the time.
