It might of been deeper but I don't think the quality was deep.

you give resumes time before you place them into history. everybody's career needs to pan out before you can really give an accurate value to the wins. margarito is nobody to enhance a resume like that! i'm sorry, bert sugar was wrong and he died before he could give you an accurate evaluation of pacquiao's place in history. margarito had been destroyed by mosley and never once showed the same power he had after getting caught with his plaster wraps under capetillo. cotto, who was never the same after the first margarito fight where he likely loaded his gloves, would go on to totally dominate him.

prior to that fight pacquiao let a very complacent josh clottey go 12, beat the faded miguel cotto, ricky hatton not long off of a life changing beating from floyd mayweather and in the midst of his weight and booze issues, and a totally shot oscar de la hoya in his last fight. that's the run that puts a guy in the top 5 all time and above robero duran? bert sugar, if he was alive, would tell you otherwise. with a bullet. either that or he is wrong. it's really not close.

roberto duran is the best lightweight of all time according to most! without a doubt he's top 3. was the champion of the world off of a victory over a great lightweight in kenny buchannan. he held that title for almost seven years! then he moved on to welterweight and got what's maybe the best win of all time against sugar ray leonard in his f#cking prime! none of you have mentioned any wins that you think fall into the same stratosphere. marquez in '08? tim bradley ? faded marco antonio barrera? faded miguel cotto?

Dejusus twice, Vilomar Fernandez(beat Arguello) the Viruet brothers, Brooks, Palomino(champ at 47) and SRL ect. You obv have never seen Duran he was a he ll of a boxer and that was the reason he could still beat guys like Moore and Barkley WELL PAST his prime. Duran was MAYBE the most natural fighter ever. His head movement even in his 40s was great. You need to watch more of Duran if you think "he was just a brawler"

Some people maybe haven't really watched this guy fight or were too young to appreciate just how good this man was.

It's REALLY hard to overrate a legend like Duran. Yeah, sometimes I do get nostalgic about the glory days when the best fought each FAR MORE FRQUENTLY. Fortunately, many Duran fights are available online. If you watched even a handful of key performances, I'd predict you would begin to appreciate the man as an extraordinary talent.

If you said his grit was like that of a brawler, I'd agree. But it was always backed by sublime skills. He was a joy to watch.

I thought the similarities in their career arcs were obvious back in 2013 when I made this account.

Duran has one of, if not the best, single wins ever over SRL, but Pac has consistent top level wins, best and championships from Flyweight to light middle.

I think they're around the same all-time. Both top 10 or 15 but I would give Pac the edge.

                    Thoughts on this?
Pac is much better than duran in everything and it's not even close...
