Golovkin's one of the 100 highest paid athletes in the world.
His 100 million dollar deal with DAZN has nothing to do with Alvarez.
Saying Alvarez doesn't want to give him a payday makes no sense.

Golovkin's contract with DAZN stipulates that he gets much more for a fight with Canelo than any other fight. Canelo is guaranteed the same amount no matter who he fights. Golovkin made much more money in the first two fights with Canelo than in any of his other fight. I suspect that he made as much in those two fights than in all his other fights combined. That is what I mean by giving GGG a payday. Additionally, the reason Golovkin got that large contract from DAZN in the first place is that Skipper wanted a Canelo fight with GGG to drive up new subscriptions. Unfortunately, he forgot to run it by Canelo beforehand and it was quashed by Canelo because he no longer wants to fight GGG.

I will do my best to be more plausible. I will begin by ignoring any objective facts and just write any insane drivel that pops into my head some others who post on this site. Yourself excepted of course. Thanks for the advice.

My point is we have standards for what makes a fighter great. And I for one will not lower those standards just to accommodate foreign fighters.

Lol...my friend...you are missing the point lol...perhaps intentionally so, I am not sure .

The point imo is that foreign fighters never really get the breaks like a US UK or Mexican fighter often do...just the way it is, no complaints about it...but it is why I try to evaluate fighters based on what I actually see from them in the ring, and not based on hype or general consensus etc...fighters from those 3 main countries will generally have the most hype/support etc so they can tend to be propped up too much relative to actual results/ability imo.

Not sure if you are sensitive about that for a particular reason or not, and was not trying to strike a nerve with ya...in any event, there are still a lot of great fighters from the US UK and Mexico, both currently and historically...but yeah a fighter from Cuba will not generally be judged/refereed the same as a fighter from the USA.

If Lara fought all his fights the same way, but was from the US and promoted a certain way, he would likely be undefeated...I think that says it all imo.

Plenty of options for both men without having to fight each other. GGG could take on Andrade or Charlo after Derevanchenko. Canelo can do what he likes tbh no problem
