  • Comments Thread For: Canelo: I've Done What I Had To Do Against Golovkin

Canelo Alvarez apparently doesn't agree with his promoter's stance on the need to fight Gennadiy Golovkin a third time. Oscar De La Hoya, whose company promotes the Mexican superstar, told the Los Angeles Times earlier this week that we "will absolutely see Canelo and GGG fight next year." Alvarez dismissed that idea during an interview with BoxingScene.com prior to a press conference Wednesday in Los Angeles to officially announce his fight against Sergey Kovalev.

This is Canelo. Robbing fighters and then running away with it as he covers his ears. He's good enough to be an 'Elite Fighter' but not good enough to truly distinguish himself. All he does is nick it by a hair and let the judges do the work.

      Kovalev via KO.

Winning is all that matters. Canelo been doing that since Floyd beat him.

Maybe kovalev can do what GGG couldn't and thats get a knockout win over alvarez

Canelo is definitely in the top 5 pound for pound active fighters today. Saying that he lost the first fight and was gifted a draw and arguably the 2nd fight was more of a draw so I think there's unfinished business with GGG.

So to beat Canelo you need to KO him? Lets not forget those Floyd Canelo scorecards.

If in 9.5 out of 10 people's eyes the series is tied 1-1 cause definitely lost the first fight/gifted a draw and the 2nd fight was a very close win then a rubber match is required. Maybe those wars with ggg took a lot out of canelo and with canelos weak knees he doesn't think he'll be able to move as good in the 3rd fight. I'd really like to see canelo rematch ggg and Lara. Fight Charlo Spence Hurd Jaime Calum smith instead of an aging can't take body shot kovalov and these paper champ like Rocky Fielding.

We all know GGG is a bigger challenge than Kovalev. C'mon. Specially with vada testing 3 months in advance.

Also, like I know we all have to live with our own contradictions, but... GGG can't be **** AND have too close fights with The GREAT Canelo! So please, be a logical hater.

The whole boxing world except the fishnets and a few nutsuckers know that Canelo lost the first fight and drew the second. But if they like to live in their delusional world, sure..
