Is Golovkin taking harder fights then Canelo?

When you think about it, He fought Vanes on short notice and Vanes had never been stopped and Golovkin ran right over him. Then people love to trash the Rolls fight but he was undefeated and a damn good boxer and Golovkin just steam rolled the guy.

Now he is fighting a guy who in my opinion beat Jacobs and looked better against Jacobs then Canelo did. Canelo literally dropped his belt and ran out of the division from this guy yet Golovkin comes in and instantly accepts the fight.

Troll much? In that case liam smith was also undefeated and canelo made him look like an average joe. Or Rocky fielding was also a "damm good fighter" that canelo steamrolled? Lil g never took risks out of the 160 division. Canelo is about to be a 4 division champ

I think their fights are about equal in quality overall. They both take easy fights and hard fights. GGG took easy fights with Vanes and Rolls because he expected to fight Canelo next. He did not want a hard fight 90 days before facing Canelo. Canelo had easy fights with Fielding who was a 12 to 1 underdog and Khan and Chavez jr who were both huge under dogs. Both GGG and Canelo had hard fights when they fought each other and they both fought Jacobs who is a pretty hard fight. Canelo fights Kovalev and he is a -450 to win. That means you must bet$450 on him to win $100. GGG fights Dervy who is a top 5 middleweight. GGG is also a -450 to win so the odds makers think GGG and Canelo have the same risk of losing their next fight. That is not too much risk. They are both expected to win.

GGG is a middleweight who fights as a middleweight. Is that some kind of disgrace now? Hagler and Monzon stayed at 160 and Hopkins stayed at 160 until he was 41. Canelo is not about to be a 4 division until he actually wins the fight and he hasn't done that. Everybody knows Canelo is not a real champ at 168. He cherry picked 12 to 1 underdog Fielding who was not the real champ. The real champ was Callum Smith who had already KOed Fielding in 2 rounds before Fielding fought Canelo. Let Canelo beat Callum Smith and then he is a real champ at 168. The fact that you call GGG little g is proof you are a GGG hater and will never be fair to him. If you can't call a boxer by his correct name you are just a hater who's opinion on that boxer is worthless. Let Canelo clean out one weight class be it 160, 168 or 175 and that would be impressive. He is not even trying to do that. He is weight jumping from weak champion to weak champion at 168 and 175. What does he do if he beats Kovalev? Does he try to unify 175 or does he look for another guy he is sure he can beat at a lower weight.

Obviously not but then again some of the names on the resume were fought against guys in the twilight of careers. If purely going over names you'd say one is impressive the other is not, and that's fine, some folks are cool with that but on a fight to fight basis what's pissed me off is the name dropping that happens like many of these guys weren't like one foot out of the sport. Canelo is a great fighter but he's got fifty somewhat fights and has like five fights worthy of mention and yet somehow has the best active resume in the sport. I don't know if that speaks to the politics of boxing or what but I don't fault him for it, don't hold it against him either. Golovkin has a whole other set off issue from me about his resume and particularly that he had K2 trying to be friendly to promoters rather than fighting to make fights. Loeffler, in my opinion, wasted Golovkin's best years and Golovkin let him and that's a huge gripe I have with him. He should've demanded better match making. It's not the first time I express this issue, I had the same issue with Danny Garcia too. So it's not isolated to Canelo, Golovkin, hell I feel the same about Thurman, Porter, Bradley too. That hall of fame opponent list on a resume seems to be dying with Manny and Floyd. You can barely get these guys now to fight each other.

                    He is fighting better competition.

He’s fighting SD, he fought Canelo twice, he tried to fight Canelo a third time and Canelo refused, he fought Danny Jacobs.

That’s Canelo’s second hardest opponent, a guy Canelo ducked and a universally recognized top 5 p4p fighter.
