GGG already beat up Kovalev in sparring years ago, when Kovalev was still in his prime.

Canelo ducking 50/50 matchups to face a vulnerable opponent who got knocked out a couple times, almost got stopped by a novice.

Yeah they are. Kovalev said he didn't feel OK with sparring Golovkin when they were both with Sanchez. The reason being that he would have to use his full power on Gennady to keep him off. He said he didn't feel right about unloading on his friend. Never say never but I doubt that they would ever fight each other for that reason and because they aren't in the same weight class. The situation with Canelo is different. He has to fight someone like Kovalev to satisfy DAZN since he refused to rematch Golovkin.

Why exactly must GGG challenge himself at 168 and 175 when middleweight is the best weight class with lots of challenges. Monzon, Hagler were great middleweights who stayed at that weight and beat the best until they retired. Hopkins stayed at 160 until he was 41. Canelo had lots of challenges at 160 and had no cleaned 160 out by a long shot. Nobody was crying for him to fight Kovalev. That was all his idea and he ruled out the 3 young unbeaten champions. So now that Canelo has picked an old champ who looked like garbage last fight and lost 3 of his last 7 fights GGG is supposed to be a big chicken because he didn't fight a light heavyweight first? Nothing wrong with GGG staying at his proper weight and fighting the guy Canelo gave up his belt not to fight. Canelo could have fought Andrade or Jermall but he didn't, He would have been favored to beat both of them but not be a 4 or 5 to 1 favorite like he is to beat old Kovalev. GGG is not chasing the Canelo fight but he would gladly fight him while Canelo refuses to fight GGG even if GGG becomes the IBF world middleweight champ.

we all remember how long and how old hopkins was when he left 160.....if you take away the rest of hopkins career hes not "legendary"....if hopkins retired after taylor his resume and career would be picked to shreds....the reason it isnt and the reason hes legendary is because of what he did after 160....plain and simple
