as skilled as ggg is, he just doesnt have it on him to push for more, to me he could have achieved a lot , but since he didnt have to, oh well....

like ive said...they like to use hopkins as a barometer when its convenient..

hopkins is a legend because of what he did after 160...if he quit after his 160 reign his resume and career would be picked to shreds and hed be deemed overrated

because of what he did after it he became legendary and what we know and think of him today

golovkin wont push that far...he wont even come close...he wont even try....yet somehow they think that by tying golovkin to hopkins at MW that golovkin can be as revered as hopkins

we all know that back in 2015 ward approached golovkin about having a fight at 168 in 2016...instead the lil g chose to fight dom wade and then drag up a WW(after making fun of canelo for it) that year...talk about a banner year

we heard boasts from team lil g about how 168 would be his best weight and they actively pursued fights at 168(unless it was ward...then they ran) against froch and chavez(guys they felt were easy targets)....

we even heard boasts about how he was bullying kovalev in sparring...and knocking out cruisers in sparring

so what happened?

there was at time kov would have been the best name on his resume....

why didn't the lil challenge himself?

maybe he was partly avoided....maybe he was partly mismanaged...it doesnt change the fact that his resume is very weak...especially when removing canelo from it....whos fault that is doesnt really matter....he wasted his prime....and thats why he should be trying to do better....youre okay with him "staying in his lane" but i doubt youd be ok with other guys doing the same

Then negotiations stopped because Canelo isnt confident he can win outside vegas.

Then Canelo creates a fake stipulation that GGG needs a belt and he will fight him.

Canelo gives up the IBO

Then he sits out because DAZN gives him the ultimatum GGG or Kovalev.

Then Canelo drops the WBC belt and agrees to be its franchise champion.

Then Canelo wont fight GGG ever because GGG hurt his feelings.

Then the IBF mandates Canelo/Derevychanko. Canelo low balls Derevychanko who knows he can get more than 5.5 million against Canelo because of the IBF mandatory 35% purse split. Then Canelo let's the IBF strip him and pretends he feels bad.

Then the IBF mandates GGG and Derevychanko fight for the vacant IBF title.

You mean Ward's ducking of Golovkin that's well documented. I think you got mixed up again. There
was a meeting with HBO with Golovkin and Ward in which Ward declined to fight Golovkin. That's a fact and documented. After all Ward called out Golovkin not the other way around. Ward got his publicity that he badly needed at that time which is what this was all about.
