Can't blame Mall, he's been asking for them fights..You forgot to mention Charlo, Billy Juice, and Andrade to stop circling around each other and start fighting among themselves. those three cowards have gotten away with fighting NOTING but BUMS, there is nothing in their resumes that make it an enticing fight vs Canelo, beating the Insufis, Koutundokuas, and Hogans of the world does not merit a Canelo Payday.

Yeah I just can't see Nelo making $35 million per fight right now, to fight anyone other than GGG...just don't see the revenue coming in that high.Canelo's $35m is basically what he would earn as a 1m PPV buys fighter (plus a premium for disregarding upside going forward).
No different than when Showtime/CBS basically guaranteed Floyd his take on 6 1m PPV buys events to come over (while not cutting him out of ant upside).
Because $35m per fight was the cost to DAZN for Canelo to give up his US TV rights (and the rights in the other countries where DAZN is, though I know he keeps his Mexican TV rights).
Canelo didn't come begging, so DAZN expecting that to be enough to dictate to Canelo was a mistake
It will be interesting to see how it all unfolds though!Comment

Yeah good points man...yeah it is really hard to say what is going to happen with Canelo/DAZN/Golden Boy in the next few years...on one hand, with as big of a star as Canelo is, it is hard for me to see him not calling his own shots...on the other hand, it is hard for me to see him walking away from his current situation since in general it is really good with Golden Boy and DAZN.I read sometime back that Canelo's contract with DAZN does not specifically call for a 3rd fight with GGG. That makes sense because DAZN signed Canelo first and GGG was negotiating with others, including Top Rank and Haymon before signing with DAZN. It would have been a bad move on DAZN's part to require Canelo to fight GGG. They would have run the risk of financial losses if GGG signed with another promoter requiring ESPN or some other platform. DAZN does have the right to refuse to stream any specific fight. That is why they initially only approved fights with GGG and Golovkin and did not approve a fight with Andrade. But I understand your broader point None of us have read the fine print on the contract.
Kind of makes for great theatre...I assume they will all find a way to work together, and we should get some good/great fights.Comment
