Hey Koba how it going? I think this is a terrible idea. The best thing about these touny's is that, for the most point they have the best fighting the best. This will not be the case with the heavy's as they make way to much money. I agree this has been great for boxing, but why waste a bunch of money on what will be the bottom half of top ten AT BEST and most likely a little lower then that. I would rather them spend that money on a weight class where they can afford to include the very best. Really this only works in the lesser paid divisions esp the smaller ones. Would love to see one at 108,112, 115, 122 and 126(but that last one might be to expensive also).

What we would all want (depending on if Whyte/Miller were cleared):
Fury
Ruiz
Wilder
Joshua
Ortiz
Pulev
Kownacki
Usyk
Povetkin
What we'll probably get will be much sadder.Comment

It’s obvious Fury, Wilder, Ruiz & Joshua wouldn’t be involved because they make too much money to waste their time in a tourney but you could certainly have 8 HWs to enter it. The problem is anyone near the top in any organization would decline because they wouldn’t want to risk losing their spot. Anyone in the top 3 of any of the bodies might decline. They would have to pay large purses to make anyone near the top consider it. You could have 8 guys in the top 15-30 range & still have a good tourney but I just don’t see the HW division being a viable option for the tourney because no champion would enter it. Just my opinion though...Comment

I doubt DIllian Whyte would join this farce. He already has his fan base and he's a PPV fighter in the UK. What the hell is he going to go on this crap for when he's already WBC mandatory?
This farce is for low earners like Wilder and boxers on the comeup. They need to throw 4 prospects (Dubois, Hrgovic, Ajagba and Yoka) in there with veterans/contenders (Miller, Kownacki, Hunter and Chisora). If AJ beats Ruiz in Dec., they can throw Ruiz in there as well.
AJ, Fury and Dillian Whyte are too big for this farce.Comment

But yeah, like you say, this kind of tourney just ain't gonna work at elite level where there's any kind of serious money already available, and whilst it might still be fun doing it with second tier guys it just ain't gonna attract the interest or have the same level of significance.Comment

Invite Usyk. He can win the Ali trophy in 2 different weights....
First off, I hope they focus on 2 tournaments a year and no more. Promotion wise, publicity wise, and money wise it just makes more sense. Secondly, I would be fine with fringe contenders and prospects at the HW level if they can do it.
I would be a little more concerned for the 160 division. Everyone wants to get in on the Canelo paydays. None of the top 160 fighters, or even mid tier top 10-15 fighters, will participate if they think they have a fraction of a chance to win that lottery.Comment

I'd really love to see it. WBSS has had some problems of late though.
You can count out the top 3 guys in the division, and maybe guys who are close to challenging them and earn a pay day.
But a blend of HW challengers and prospects would be great. I'm sure they could pick up 8 interesting names.Comment

If they could pull off a middeweight tourney with Charlo, Andrade, Jacobs, and even lil g if he grows a pair, would be interesting. Sadly, in all likelihood it'll be B/C level fighters and prospects.Comment

With the likes of Chisora/Parker, Joyce, Dubois, Ajagba, Fa, Price & Miljas a H/W tournament could actually could be limited to Commonwealth fighters. A European should be quite east for Sauerland as well featuring Wallin, Kayabel, Hrgavic, Knowacki, Romanov & Rozanski. "Where someones 0 would have to go"!Comment
