Kovalev used to be the best at 175, like 3-4 years ago... he may even beat Bivol (because Bivol is very clean)... But Kova would have very hard nights vs Beterbiev and Gvozdyk as we speak...

Kovalev vs Canelo will only be a good exhibition fight -- (Canelo is paying)...

Kova would be underdog against Beterbiev, Bivol, Gvozdyk. That`s why.

It is not about their resumes.

Kova is hurt champ. He was in some wars not long ago. First he got brutally stopped by Eleider Alvarez. Revenged that loss in another tough fight. had a big brawl with young fresh Yarde less than a month ago.

Canelo just knows Kova was in some wars and he hopes he got enough damage in that fights. That`s why he fights him. Bivol, beterbiev, Gvozdyk are undefeated champs. have you seen what Gvozdyk did to Stevenson? Lol, no chance Canelo would fight Gvozdyk after that.

He is old, weak to the body, and got blasted out by Alvarez just a couple fights age.

If you're going to respond to me why not quote me?

Any way, once again, you guys are confusing/equating fight difficulty and losses to being less of a fighter.

Gvov beat a 60 year old inactive Stevenson who was almost stopped and out on his feet one fight prior against Badou Jack. Why do so many people forget this? You call Kovalev old, but give Gvov credit for beating an even older Stevenson? What sense does that make?

Gvov was not only almost KO'd by the 60 year old Stevenson, but he was dropped and almost KO'd by Kaparency.

Bivol struggled with Jean Pascal. His best win is against Sullivan Barrera. Who's to say Bivol can even beat Yarde or Alvarez? We don't know.

Beterbiev was dropped by Jeff Paige Jr and Callum Johnson all within 12 fights. Can Beterbiev beat Yarde or Alvarez? I don't know.

Kovalev beat Yarde, Shabranskyy and revenged his loss to Alvarez.

Not to long ago before this fight was announced, many people were clamoring how Kovalev defeated Ward. Now those same guys who claimed Kovalev beat Ward, no longer count that win in the wake of Kovalev vs Canelo. Too many inconsistencies to count.

If you're going to consider someone the favorite over the #1 guy in the division, I need facts and proof to justify it. Being dropped by Jeff Paige Jr, Callum Johnson, Tommy Karpency and having your best win being against Barrera or Pascal isn't a good look.

Since so many people have a hard time answering this question, I'll ask you and lets see of you can answer.

Name Gvov, Beterbiev and Bivol's top 3 wins as of late?

Bivol could certainly beat any Kovalev opponent
Based off what? The one mutual opponent they have is Pascal. After that fight, many people didn't think Bivol was as good as they originally thought. And based off the Pascal fight, most would say Bivol would not beat Ward or even the Hopkins that Kovalev fought.

I'm not too convinced he can beat Alvarez or Yarde currently.

Kovalev's best opponent was Ward. Ward lost a couple of rounds to Barrera and could not stop him. Bivol won every round from Barrera and the KOed him. He easily outperformed Ward. Bivol beat Pascal by a mile. I have seen hem all fight and Kovalev is the oldest and weakest at this time. Even that rookie nobody from England almost stopped him with body shots, Keep on tryong to make a case for Kovalev as the top guy at 175 but everybody knows that is not true. The odds makers have him a big underdog to Canelo because he is old and shot. Canelo would not be as much of a favorite if he was fighting any of the young champions.
                1. You think Bivol could beat Ward because he beat Barrera much cleaner than Ward did? If you've followed boxing, you know triangle theories don't work.

                2. You talk about how Kovalev was almost stopped by Yarde, but don't talk about how Gvov was almost stopped by Karpency and a 60 year old inactive Stevenson who was one fight removed from almost being stopped by Badou Jack ? You also don't mention how Artur was dropped by Johnson and Jeff Paige Jr within 12 fights. Why turn a blind eye to those events?

                3. Tell me Gvov, Beterbiev and Bivol's top 3 wins that make you think they're better and more dangerous than Kovalev?

I mean this is insane at the length new boxing fans go to discredit someone.

Cmon guys, you really think Canelo would fight Gvozdyk after he saw what happened to Stevenson?

Kovalev has 3 losses in last 5 years and he is well known name. That`s why canelo fights him. It is not about discreditation, that is the fact.

Still risky fight for Canelo TBH.
