Kovalev has no one to blame but himself for losing to Ward, specially in the first fight. If he had had the stamina to continue to push Ward and win the late rounds decisively it would have been a totally different story. Heck he could have even got him out of there. Clearly the judges were going to give Ward every benefit of the doubt.

From the best I can remember after the 2nd fight, when asked about the low blows, Ward stated "I did what I had to do." Completely did NOT deny it. I believe Kovalev got screwed in the first fight. And kinda couldn't believe my eyes when I saw him get repeatedly punched in the balls in the second fight and it got called a KO. I've seen highlight reels of Ward throwing elbows. He's a dirty fighter. Never was a fan of that sort of thing. But the other side is the man is an absolute encyclopedia of boxing, and probably at the top of my list if I was ever going to have someone train me. I'm sure a lot of young fighters could do much worse than to take some life lessons from guy like Andre Ward. I love to listen to him commentate. He picks apart a fight and fighters like few others can. And at the end of the day, even though it may not have always been the most sporting way, he always adapted and found a way to win. I didn't like Otto Wallin's dirty tactics against Fury either, but as Ricky Hatton put it, this isn't tiddlywinks. Kovalev is no stranger to getting dirty. Trainers at a local gym tell stories of him getting butthurt in training after repeatedly getting hit with a certain punch. So he decided to punch his sparring partners in the shoulder until they couldn't punch anymore rather than get the proper workouts. If Kovalev didn't like Ward's rough tactics he should've gotten rough right back.

Kovalev needs a therapist. Ward is still deep in his head. I wonder what he's gonna say when Canelo beats him following Ward's blueprint?

Canelo is also a smaller fighter than Ward..So We still gotta see how Canelo handles that weight..
& of course Kova is now gonna praise Canelo & S H I T all over Ward who wipped him twice..

Obviously Canelo is gonna go to the body(cause Kova has shown thst's his weak spot)& lets see if Kova doesn't cry & claim low blows like he did against Ward.

Those were low blows. and the first fight Kovalev won 8-4 no way you can give ward more than 4 rounds in the first fight not counting the knockdown.

Klovalev is right. He beat Ward the first fight and Ward used very low illegal blows to get a KO win he never should have received. Ward is as dirty as they come. Canelo is a much better fighter than Ward and he is 100% a clean fighter. He is boxing's best body puncher but his body punches are always legal.

First Froch has been hating on Ward all decade, now Kovalev? Dam Ward passed out the salt before he retired. Regardless if the shots were low when it got stopped, he wasn't finishing the fight after what he looked like at that point. The first fight was a toss up at the end & Ward finished strong. He may not have been the most crowd-pleasing guy, but he always found ways to neutralize & dominate all of his opponents. Stop hating & move on.
