He's the only one driving subscribers their way.

You think GGG is getting people to sign up for DAZN to watch him fight Steve Rolls and Derevyanchenko?

It's smart of Oscar to negotiate quietly with several fighters at once and not mention any names.
They did earn it though. Not 50/50, but they earned more than 10%. How much money did Canelo vs Fielding make? Probably 1/10 of what Canelo vs GGG made. So either GGG is 10 times a bigger star than Canelo, which is false, or the matchup is what fans pay for more than just one fighter (true). In other words, having another top A-side name to fight is still worth 40% of the pot even if you're Canelo, and having at least a B-side name to fight with a chance of winning, like Jacobs, is still worth maybe 25% or 30% of the pot.

So they have earned a lot more than what Oscar is letting on. Canelo is the biggest star but he still gets paid for fights, not for modeling. Modeling you do by yourself, but fights take another person.

Even the pro-Canelo media was reporting that DAZN was pushing hard for Canelo to fight Jacobs in may because Canelo vs Fielding made zero splash for them at all and they were losing money paying him that much for fights like that that didn't deliver subscribers.

I can almost guarantee that Canelo vs Kovalev will bring in more subscribers than Canelo vs Fielding and Canelo vs Jacobs combined. In other words, one Kovalev fight is worth more than two Canelo fights. Am I saying Kovalev is a bigger star than Canelo? No of course not. If Kovalev wasn't fighting Canelo or another interesting opponent, two of his fights would drive less subs than Canelo vs Fielding and Canelo vs Jacobs. The point that I am making though is, the quality of the fights matters just as much as the star power of the A-side.

Canelo is a comfirmed drug cheat who can some how move between weights losing and making muscle like its no big deal.
Umm sounds a bit su****ious to me.

Man I'm not saying it would be a trash fight...but don't try and sell that balogna that going up in weight, but having the weight/rehydration/venue/judges etc in your favor is 'chasing greatness'...you are the A-side in all of boxing and acting accordingly to put on decent fights to maximize your revenue/return while limiting the risk...it is smart business.

But 'legacy' would be challenging GGG to a fight in Kazhakstan and KOing him...fighting at 175 without any restrictions against a top champ (if he does that with Kov he gets full credit from me)...fighting a real champ at 168 with no restrictions...fighting Charlo/Andrade/GGG in his next few fights and unifying/cleaning up the MW division...spare me those wolf tickets Oscar...though can't be mad at ya, you're just doing your job...

Richest deal in sports history is mike trout... with that being said, it’s a 99.9 percent chance that it’s Kovalev at the T Mobile arena in Vegas on Nov 2nd
