They were in two different weight classes and promotional companies/networks.Congratulations, you've won the moronic Tank Davis fan of the day award!! You broke MCC streak of 274 straight days of winning.
The MF'er could have had the fight at any point in the last year and a half and they ran like *****es ....
Pursuing a fight with Loma lolololololol
What a dummy

Sounds like excuses to mitch about something we all knew was coming. Davis was always gonna outgrow 130. Was just a matter of when. Just like Lopez and 135.It doesn't put us any closer to the fight, no.
Tank could have had the fight already and his side didn't want it. I'm not saying they were right or wrong in saying they weren't ready but now we got people running around here acting like Tank is chasing this man down.. he got too fat for 130 is all that happened. When he wants the fight, I bet he can get it without much issue. It's the only real PPV big money fight for either man.Comment

The Davis Lomachenko saga is turning out just like the GGG Alvarez saga. Loma fans desperate for Davis to jump into the fight while they think Loma has the advantage all while simultaneously saying Davis is trash.
If Davis is trash, why do you want him to fight Loma? Why not let him go fight bums for his money off on his own. He nor his team have not proclaimed greatness above this guy or that guy while refusing to fight him.Comment

Loma fought big Linares for his 1st fight @135, who is not only taller and rangier but who weighted 152 pds while Loma was 137, Loma fought a WW for his debut at 135, Davis is fighting an old guy who doesnt pose any threatComment

Then who he should Tank Davis fight as his professional debut at the Lightweight division? Of course, it's no secret that Gamboa is diminished and on the decline. That's why Team Davis is taking this fight in the first place.
However, there's no doubt that "The Cyclone from Guantánamo" Yuriorkis Gamboa has been avoided and ducked for much of his career by the bigger names in his weight division like Juan Manuel Lopez and Mikey Garcia.
Moreover, at the same time he is still a cagey veteran with an extensive amateur pedigree and experience; Who is also an Olympic gold medalist and would be the biggest name on Gervonta's resume.
So it's without question, that Gamboa at the present moment is a gatekeeper. He is being set up to fail as a stepping stone for up and coming fighters due to his age and deterioration of boxing skills.
So I get all that. However, as I've stated earlier. Tank has to start somewhere. All I am asking is find me a better suited opponent other than Yuriorkis Gamboa for Gervonta Davis' Lightweight debut.Comment

WTF are you talking about, Davis B!t@hed out, against nobody, Farmer! Who he talked *****e about forever. Then demanded $10M (chuckle). Thats so weak.So making the biggest statement in boxing this year by jumping up to 135 THE DAY AFTER Lomachenko unified 3 belts in the divsion is cherrypicking I guess.
Guy is blatantly aggressively pursuing a fight with the #1 fighter in the world Lomachenko and that make him a cherrypicker because he's fighting Yuriorkis Gamboa to earn his shot. Incredible honestly.
Had a back up in Gamboa @130 that's what Gamboa & tank both fought @ in there last fights. Ahhh but that might be a problem for stank, so stank wuss out by jumping up a division to fight him now @135 with no belt, so keep pretending.
This is what makes a PPV star these days.
Like Farmer is a PPV or Gamboa @ this point. Davis is making the biggest statement this year jumping to 135 against 38 yo Gamboa that lost to a 24-12 guy 2 years ago!
I'm think you smoke a lot of crack.
Do they pay you to write this? or you just that dumb?
Thats a b!t@h move. He's next going to price himself out and ask for $20 million+ for Loma. Who you kidding, tanks 24 lomas 31 and has no plan to fight Loma until lomas 37!
Like he needs a Gamboa fight to get a Loma fight.
You kidding, He was too scared too fight Farmer! Hello.
Im happy Gamboa's getting a pension fund, you pay for it. Tank doesn't have a drop of class, never will, weak diet going to come back to haunt him, if and that's a big if, he ever steps up in class. Probably wuss out of a Gamboa fight. Hard to belive your making excuse for this fraudComment
