Comments Thread For: Arum, Hearn Trade Heated Words Over "DAZN Being a Disaster"

You know Wilder turned down over 100 million to fight Joshua on DAZN right ?I don't understand networks, streaming services, or whoever giving exclusive rights to one promoter. One promoter doesn't have the fighters to keep putting up great matches, these companies need to realize that they need to allow all comers to fight on their network.
Theres a fight TODAY with two DAZN fighters H.Fury and Povetkin on Arums promotion and Cambell is fighting Loma who is also a DAZN /Matchroom fighter .
With all the threads the Wilder Forum ( THIS forum ) never posted what Arum and Hearn said together yesterday and that was Al Haymon was the one blocking the fights and is the difficult one to work with. lol
Fighters aren't being blocked on the Apps or networks, otherwise no actual fights would be made its why Ruiz fight was made in the first place on DAZN and hes a PBC guy but Haymon also blocked Ortiz from taking the Joshua fight and that's the one most wanted to see .
Theres just one major guy in the industry blocking fights and its usually Haymon , even Hearns rival who is actually Warren has done fight deals though its not often, hes blocked the Fury fight last year demanding 50% or no fight with a multiple cross platform shown on Matchroom and BT Sports which isn't possible in the U.K ,hes also sabotaged the Wilder vs Joshua fight bc he brought BT into it which cannot buy rights to that fight over Joshuas Matchroom contract.
Its not Hearn its the other guys preventing fights. .Last edited by juggernaut666; 08-31-2019, 08:50 AM.Comment

In the USA they do because most of them are Johnny come lately “fans” who are ethnic fans only and or only fans of specific promotions....usually because of ethnic reasons. Even foreign peoples seem to want to have a say in how Americans watch boxing and have their favourites based on national origin.Comment

No he did not. He turned down a multi fight deal with DAZN. DAZN cannot negotiate fights for AJ. That's illegal. A violation of the ALI act. Only Hearn can negotiate fights for AJ. AJ doesn't have a contract with DAZN.Comment

Because they don't want to see American boxing return to dominance. They love when the UK is called the best place for boxing. They have an agenda against US boxing and want it to remain a niche sport in AmericaComment

He could have fought Joshua right away that was an option Skipper gave him or Breazeale then Joshua, there was no multi deal forced on him .Wilder DID force a multi deal himself however with Showtime didn't he ?
Joshua and DAZN /Matchroom contacts have nothing to do With trying to make a Wilder fight, how could it ? .

I'm guessing Dazn is doing well or Arum wouldn't be bad-mouthing then while his own shows aren't selling lol
But seriously who cares?? as long as there's good fights people will watch them...on YoutubeComment

They are both right. Early existence has been garbage. They both jumped into these platforms with the idea that big stars can sell mismatches to the idiot masses.
But a boxing match is only as good as the legacy and risk on the line for two champions. Magnify the result if it polarizes the audience in some way. Those types of matches sell them selves practically by word of mouth and introducing the fighters to the world in a very intimate and relatable way.Comment

It’s amazing they still push that agenda....when we all know it meant signing his career over to dazn. It wasn’t a one off proposed event. It was nothing more than Hearn and skipper trying to sell subscriptions off wilder signing with them for what, 4 fights? That’s two years of his career. Funny, they never talk about Joshua turning down 50m for one fight.....Comment

Lol at people dissing DAZN. The 1 1/2 hour group interview with Hearn and Arum last month by itself was worth the monthly charge. Also has lots of old fight videos. Plus boxer interviews.
And the MLB updates are interesting.
And The Cricket coverage! Japanese soccer!
Well worth the money IMO. DAZN is not boxings problem. The problem is promoters not matching up their fighters regardless of TV lr streaming rights.Comment
