Personally I would've used the Gary Russell fight as a sign of his improvement.
Proof that Loma has improved since losing to Salido

The problem with the GR jr fight is that it happened immediately following the Orlando Salido fight. Which begs the question, who really makes vast improvements in ONE fight?
The Lomasexuals need to come to terms with the reality that Lomafako is a hype job who has done *nothing* of any consequence in his career. Beating the likes of GR jr does NOT qualify as a P4P #1 quality win. Stop smoking the Crack.
PS - Orlando Salido sends his regards.

While I totally agree Loma is a much better fighter now then in his 2nd fight, you cant compare fighters like that. Just because fighter A beats fighter B who has a win over fighter C don't make fighter A better or able to beat fighter C. I think its just clear over the course of his career he has improved, matter a fact I think Loma was better fighter in rd 12 then he was in rd 1. I picked Salido to win that fight although I thought Loma would do well early before Salido came on late. Instead it was the opposite, and although I did not think Loma was ready for that style, he was by end of fight, and I would have picked him to win an immediate rematch. I think any argument that Loma is not just PFP, but at LEAST #2 has already been debunked by everyone but the blind. I personally believe he is #1 PFP.Lomachenko destroyed Rocky Martinez when he was coming off a draw and a win over Salido.
That is a fact. Clear sign Loma improved, when he destroyed a fighter who was on the same level as an opponent he had problems with. Not even talking about the asterisks surrounding his loss.
This argument to dismiss Loma as a p4p fighter has been debunked.Comment

Anyone who thinks Loma is a bum is blind. I think fans are frustrated that those marvelous skills are not being put to use by kicking it up a notch in opposition.
Loma is almost close to retirement, and wasting his time with unification, undisputed, and BS like that, especially in this era, is sad. These belts from the corrupt orgs are meaningless. He won't get much credit that way. The competition is too weak. See GGG.
Loma should target specific opponents: Davis at 135, Mikey at 140, Berchelt at 135, Pacman at 140. Something like that. Start with Davis.
Time to crank it up a notch or two.Last edited by BoxingIsGreat; 08-29-2019, 07:35 PM.Comment

The Loma fanboys should chill and take a step back. I respect his good fans and have some friends from them.Comment

I'm assuming you are some young kid who doesn't know any better. Do you see the original TS's quote there ? Do you have any idea of the context of this thread ?
Either your reading comprehension is not above 3rd grade, or your bias/troll attitude guides your perspective and cognition.
The theory pertains to Loma being nothing more than a manufactured hype-job bum. The context of this entire thread revolves around Loma's lessons learned in the Salido loss, and his progression since. I've no problem with "Salido beat Lomachenko". Never have. It was the best thing that could have happened to Loma. It's my contention that Salido would lose to Loma 90 days after their first fight. He would then lose again in March of 2015, then 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, and any rematch ever to transpire.
So, before you question what planet I'm from, I suggest you again read the OP's quote, or better yet I'll post it again...
I live on planet Earth, where some of the all-time greats and best fighters to ever lace up gloves, have losses on their records.
You can put all the stock you want into that Salido loss. That's your prerogative and your right.
Just remember that when a fighter you support has a controversial decision or split decision, and you suddenly feel that all losses are not created equal. Context is everything !
yep, I would have backed him to win an immediate rematch
that rematch should have happened
Arum blew it TWICE !
he took the fight he should have passed up... and he passed on the fight he should have taken
terrible timing from Arum
I would just about bet my life that Bruce Trampler and Brad Goodman told Arum to defer that fight another yearComment
