He fought Pascal in Canada because they were easy fights and they could sell more tickets. It's no different than Loma going to the UK to fight Campbell. It's an easy cash grab.

No, FS1 and Showtime are doing comparable ratings to ESPN. Most FS1 shows have failed to draw 300k viewers.

I don't think there's been a single ESPN card that got less than 400k. BoxingScene only reports the ratings for Showtime's main events. When you do the math the averages for the full shows are typically much lower than ESPN with Wilder fights being the exception.

Lot's of great olympians didn't go on to have great pro careers. Degeale's biggest win was against a washed up Bute. He made defenses against guys like Rogelio Medina. Who? He lost his belt to mediocre Truax. He was good enough to be champion in a time when the division was at it's weakest in a long time. Calzaghe had retired and Ward had cleaned out the division and moved up to light heavyweight. Against the current guys in the division he'd probably struggle against B-level guys like Jesse Hart.
He may have fought in Atlantic city before Hopkins but no one went , Similar to no went when he headlined in Vegas or when he fought on the same day as Wilder in New York

Kovakevs fame doesnt translate to ticket sales / revenue or PPV. Buys

You proved my point , he went to Montreal because they could sell more tickets because Kovalev can’t sell tickets

And you say Ward can’t draw flies , you want to compare there attendance when they’re the Aside headliner because I’m almost positive That WRds # take a big sh.it all over Kovalev . Not a Kov fan but that’s one thing I always will give him props he has no problem taking short $ or going into the opponents backyard to make a fight that’s seldom seen in this sport

As far as viewership # you really think 400-600k on that’s available in a 100 million + homes isn’t comparable to 300-400k on platforms that have a fraction of available viewers . The fact Showtime & FS1 can have fights that have more people watching then any fight on ESPN excluding Loma & Crawford isn’t anything to brag about. But Truthfully with the exception of Wikder / Crawford / Loma & I guess Plant the #s on all 3 Platforms ESPN / Showtime / FS1 have been disappointing

I just think if you asked boxers or fans , would you be happy when your careers done if all you were able to achieve in the sport was a Olympic Gold Medal , A World Championship That you held on to and defended for years and involved in a handful of big Headlining fights in the Process able to collect however many millions of dollars would you be satisfied with how your career played out , I bet 99% would say f.uck yeah that’s not a bad career but to you he’s a nobody and hasn’t done sh.it.

Kovalev was the guy with the HBO contract. Hopkins had to ditch Showtime to fight him. He was the big name at 175 and he only went to Canada to get that extra PPV money on top of the big paydays he was already getting from HBO. He didn't need to sell tickets to make money and do huge ratings.

There's only a 2% difference between ESPN and FS1. FS1 actually has more viewers than ESPN2 yet they can't even match the ratings for Mikaela Meyers last fight which was on ESPN2.

If he leaves DAZN to jump into the unofficial WBC/WBA/IBF 168lb tournament alongside Benevidez/Dirrell winner, Caleb Plant, Peter Quillin, Yidrim, Uzcategui, and Chris Eubank Jr, what is he actually ducking?

Especially if he's looking at making a run in the US, what are you talking about?

Fights against Gvodzyk, Beterbiev could do big ratings because they're huge punchers. The only PBC guy who might be an attractive option is Benavidez. Plant is an overhyped redneck with a boring style. Putting the audience to sleep against Plant or Dirrell will do nothing for his career. Haymon did nothing for Degeale aside from always being on undercards and smaller shows.
If that were the case, why the **** would Lomachenko go to London to fight Luke Campbell?
