No one is saying he is ducking right now, but if he leaves DAZN now that Saunders has joined the team when they are both champs it definitely looks like he is...

Surprised if Smith goes elsewhere think Matchroom would have a couple of big fight options that for Smith ( Saunders / Jacobs ) maybe Golovkin / Bivol

But if he does leave Smith should be like Degeale and cross the pond and align with Harmon & PBc there’s unification fights with Plant & Durrell / Benevidez winner , Smith could beat the brakes off Chavez , a Eubank fight might be available, Not sure if Uscategui is with them or not , and theres a handful of faded vets with names that Smith could Feast on ( Quillen / Angelo / J’leon )

He wants to fight a US based fighter

Smith’s name has already been linked to at least one potential fight against Billy Joe Saunders, who just recently signed with Matchroom — which is also a fight Eddie Hearn would like to stage at some point. But Smith’s trainer Joe Gallagher says they’re more interested in taking on the top fighters based out of the U.S. first.

“Callum has a few lucrative offers on the table. He is considering them because they could lead to big fights. His head has been turned.

“We’re now waiting to see what Eddie can offer Callum. Callum wants big-name US-based fighters like Sergey Kovalev, Canelo, David Benavidez and Caleb Plant.”

BJS almost got beat by Eubank Jr. and the only half-decent boxer he beat is Lemieux, who’s Lucian Bute 2.0 with more power and a better chin.
