Well Hearn just signed BJS last week, but OK.

Hearn created Matchroom US and signed a billion dollar deal with dazn who are trying to crack the US market, and now you tell me he is trying to sign US fighters? What could it all mean? Its like a mystery wrapped in a riddle.

Y’all keep falling for premier if you want. There will be no premier in two years.

So much wrong in this post

Loma is the biggest name that’s why fighters will fight him he represents the biggest fight and the biggest paycheque and a chance to be on ESPN main event for them

Kovalev is the biggest name but he can’t sell any TIx and that’s why he almost always fought in the opponents backyards but regardless I’d be surprised if he’s still fighting at the end of 2020

Nail / Beterbiec great fight can’t wait

But Top Ranks rating haven’t been good / do 2 unknown Easyern Europeans even crack 1 million viewers? 175 is stacked but in no way a $ Division but that probably a good because ego won’t get in the way of the fights being made

On PBc Smith can Potentially get 3 straps/ Have a big Donestic Fight , be #1 at 168 and have the largest US audience watch his fights

Degeale made a killing with Harmon / Got a sTrap & had multiple big fights / had a chance to be the #1 at 168

Best move Degeale made was going to PBc and he obviously thinks the same his retirement announcement was on the verge of being a Haymon Love letter

I'd rather see Smith at 168 than Kovalev at 170 vs Canelo.

Kovalev only fought in someone else's backyard when he won the title and his first defense was in Canada. Since then he's always fought on his turf or neutral territory as was the case vs. Ward.

Of course 175 is a money division. Even Eleider Alvarez is getting crazy money.

PBC only gets decent ratings on Fox but they have limited dates on that network. Most of their fights are on FS1 and Showtime where they do 30-50% fewer viewers than ESPN.

Degeale might have made some good money with PBC but he is a nobody. He's had a very average career, will never get into the hall of fame, and wouldn't be able win another title unless Haymon paid the WBA to create another interim belt.

If Callum wants American TV exposure he needs to Sign with Al.Haymon baby. PBC will make Callum a bigger name and enhance his profile,, then there is Eddie Hearn with Canelo and Triple G which I don't believe that either 2 will fight Smith. I want to see Smith fight David Benavidez and Caleb Plant.

175 isn’t a $ Division / Who can be The A side to their own PPV . A unification fight between 2 prime unbeaten champions is taking place on regular ESPN / If it was such a $ Division this type of fight would generate more buzz then it has

Kovalev went to the opponents backyard against Cleverly ( understandably) Pascal 2x , and pretty much against Hopkins ( Atlantic City is 1hr drive Away from Philly ) and pretty much against Ward ( Vegas is 1 -1 1/2 flight from La / Oakland and a 4-8 hr drive.

Seriously if Kovalev can’t draw flies to sh.it by himself , if he could he wouldn’t have gone to Montreal 2x to fight pascal

Many Showtime/Fs1 are getting comparable # to ESPN Us #1 sports platform

You must be Sugar Ray Leonard If winning a OlympicGold Medal and a World Championship with multiple defences & being involved in many big main event fights making Millions in the Process constitutes being a nobody , I consider that a pretty f.ucking good career, but what the f. Uck do I know

Kovalev had fought his two fights prior to Hopkins in Atlantic City because there's a lot of Russians in that area. Ward couldn't even draw flies in Oakland and even with the proximity in distance very few people showed up to watch that fight in Vegas. It was hardly home field advantage for Ward. He fought Pascal in Canada because they were easy fights and they could sell more tickets. It's no different than Loma going to the UK to fight Campbell. It's an easy cash grab.

No, FS1 and Showtime are doing comparable ratings to ESPN. Most FS1 shows have failed to draw 300k viewers.

I don't think there's been a single ESPN card that got less than 400k. BoxingScene only reports the ratings for Showtime's main events. When you do the math the averages for the full shows are typically much lower than ESPN with Wilder fights being the exception.

Lot's of great olympians didn't go on to have great pro careers. Degeale's biggest win was against a washed up Bute. He made defenses against guys like Rogelio Medina. Who? He lost his belt to mediocre Truax. He was good enough to be champion in a time when the division was at it's weakest in a long time. Calzaghe had retired and Ward had cleaned out the division and moved up to light heavyweight. Against the current guys in the division he'd probably struggle against B-level guys like Jesse Hart.

This is the guy that said DAZN wouldn't have Canelo fans if it wasn't for Canelo so I'd listen to him here as he might be on to something again, he's borderline genius.
