Callum Smith is mad at Eddie Hearn

Hes not a very sexy B side for a big fight. Hes got very lil heat on him outside the UK despite the Ali trophy. He's too UK-centric basically & in the wrong division. So he either needs a big UK fight or wait for when Canelo wants to avoid GGG again. Or move up to 175.
Only fight thats seemingly realistic currently is BJS for a big UK fight & good luck getting BJS to not just agree to a deal but then also not f#ck sh^t up before the walk to the ringComment

Very true. Always good to test your value. Mikey is basically doing this after every fight these days which might be a lil excessive or genius idk for sure. Definitely more guys should be playing out their deals to free agency to find their market value. Too many boxers are comfortable with the devil they know in this sketchy ass business.Comment

Why not?
I'd think it'd be harder to get BJS to sign a deal than Callum. Callum seems like hes still flying under the radar so beggars cant be choosers with big fights.
That said I think Callum loses all the big fights hes likely to get. Hes right up there with Andrade & to a lesser degree Hughie as being massively overrated by fans to me. I mean they clearly dont suck, but I dont think any are as good as advertised. And the only reason Callum is #1 at 168 is cuz most of the guys who coulda beaten him didnt enter the WBSS likely cuz their promoter/manager didnt see the benefit in fighting in a UK-centric tournament as fighters largely fighting in the US.Comment

He probably just is putting pressure on Hearn to get him a big fight soon and/or to get him more money.
For those mentioning BJS, I'm pretty sure I read or heard Hearn say he wants to build that fight up a bit and make it bigger before matching those two up. I would LOVE the Bivol showdown either at 168 or 175. Smith is a big 168 pounder and will soon be at 175, so we could get some great match ups with the ESPN 175 pounders.
Smith's resume' is truly lacking even though he seems like a top talent.Comment

BJS was willing to fight him but it was Smith's side that turned down the offer and then a few weeks later we see BJS signing with Matchroom. Why not?

I actually think Smith would be a pretty awful match up for BJS. He would have to take more risks in that fight as Smith could get his shots off from the outside on him all fight long.
Maybe Smith figured once BJS signed with Matchroom that Hearn would make the fight happen instead of coming out and saying it needs to be built up more?Comment
