I don't think he wants to fight Billy Joe tbh. When Saunders was with Warren, Gallagher and Hearn kept saying they had 3 fight plan or some shít like that. Seems like those plans have dissolved since Saunders signed onto Matchroom.

If true, pretty crazy, but smart on Smith to exercise his options. It can't hurt for Smith to ask around, to find out what someone's willing to pay him and Eddie can match. All jokes aside Eddie get's his top guys paid pretty good usually so I'm interested to see what happens if true(Which I doubt).

Smith’s name has already been linked to at least one potential fight against Billy Joe Saunders, who just recently signed with Matchroom — which is also a fight Eddie Hearn would like to stage at some point. But Smith’s trainer Joe Gallagher says they’re more interested in taking on the top fighters based out of the U.S. first.

“Callum has a few lucrative offers on the table. He is considering them because they could lead to big fights. His head has been turned.

“We’re now waiting to see what Eddie can offer Callum. Callum wants big-name US-based fighters like Sergey Kovalev, Canelo, David Benavidez and Caleb Plant.”
