Everybody back then admitted Ward fought everybody they just didn't like his fighting style.
Over time though he's just been lumped in with Floyd
He retired to avoid his mandatory of Beterbiev.

Ward was a clever fighter, but i kind of understand if people feel he was overated.

He was a spoiler, awful to watch and not a PPV type personality.

To hear his commentary on on ESPN is painful, almost unbearable.

Anybody with some brains and a bit of memory can expose Ward, nevertheless he continues to be that way.
Maybe one day he‘ll realize why he couldn’t get no respect

                    If being over rated means

Being undefeated since you were 12 and beating a who’s who of his contemporaries who turned out to be Future Wold Champions while in the Amateurs

Being the last US Male to Win a Gold Medal in Boxing

Clearing out your division which was deep with talent and basically all Prime at the time you fought them, having Froch not even wanting to avenge his Loss , Beating Down Dawson when he was prime & the man in his division , then Jumping up in Weight and Beating the Divisional Boogeyman who was Undefeated , Considered Prime and a top 5 P4Per at the time not once but 2x with the 2nd fight seeming to have the Boogeyman essentially mentally broken and tapping out and finishing your career as being recognized as the #1 P4P fighter in the World and a Lock for the HOF

Then yeah Andre Ward is over rated as f.uck . But if you look at what’s he’s accomplished who he fought when he fought them and probably his eras Greatest Pure winner then no he’s no he’s not Over Rated , He should probably get more Props then he does

Ward gets props from real boxing fans. Those who **** on him are just bitter little ****s who have no voice except here on this forum. I don't like Kovs style of boxing at all, but I respect him. He can't fight inside at all. He is a force if you stay in the end of his punches. When guys fight him on the inside he was a head locker when he was in a real fight. But like any fighter, I like to see them solve their problems and McGirt seems to be a major influence in the latter stages of his career. Buddy has helped preserved that ugly style of his.
