First of all , knowing he has not gone more than 7 rounds in his very short career , he should of been hitting the body from the beginning
That would of caused Kovi many problems , that jab would be almost non- existent , as he would not throw it so much because to cover his body
That would lead to Yarde getting some great openings upstairs
Secondly , imo , Kovi’s chin is not what it used to be
He can take a shot but as soon as two three combo of power shots hits it , he seems to be in trouble ( when before he could walk through )
Canelo will destroy him just by being a body puncher , which he is clearly
Canelo didn’t pick a Beterbiev or Bivol for good reason
He didn't pick them for good reasons,Mainly that they're fckin nobodies/unknowns to majority of ppl & vastly less decorated or prestigious as having Kovalevs belt & current scalp on tiny midget nelos mantle,& they are not future hofers like Kov(coming from me whom used to call him Foldalev before he transformed into Violatorev & proved hes having a rebirth late in his career)

If canelo picked Bivol ppl would say hes ducking Callum Smith or Kovalev as the haters were saying before he made kov the 1st real payday offer of his career that even included a 6 figure 4 yarde to step aside. These same clowns downplaying Kovalev now were hanging off his balls & saying canelo was just name dropping & ducking him & wouldn't ever fight him at 175.

Hating ass clowns are a disease to boxing(im not saying you because I don't know you)

This is why we can't have nice fights between 2 future hofers because ppl refuse to give credit when a fighter does what everyone always crys other fighters don't

I won’t be giving Canelo any praise when he does win
      This is textbook Mayweather pickings
Why not go with the big boys ; a Beterbiev or a Bivol
Nope chose Kovi cause he is the weakest link at light heavyweight

I guess he learnt much more than boxing when he took that L from Mayweather

I think Kovi is custom made for Canelo
I’m not hating anyone unless I got coin on them
But imo Kovi is done , stamina problems and that chin not looking like it used to be
As a boxing fan , I would rather see Canelo against a Beterbiev or Bivol
I would give him much more credit and accolades if he beat one of those guys

Unfortunately I have to agree with you here my friend...for team Canelo to want the Kov fight...they have to see something in him that makes them think he can at least go 12 rounds...and I don't think Beterbiev or a couple others at 175 would be as enticing an opponent for Nelo.

I do think Kovalev could still very well be the best at 175 right now though...but matchup wise he is probably the best pick for Nelo as far as Nelo's chances to win

Any of the other champs will destroy this Kovi
He’s been in many wars and the blueprint
He gets mauled if he fights Beterbiev or Gvozdyk
Bivol would just basically outbox him fairly easy possibly getting a ko when the Kovi begins to gas out

Bro Im not sure you know, but they are talking November 2 for the Canelo vs Kovalev fight. That's 2 months from now. Kovalev just had an 11 round war with someone who turned out to be as big a puncher as he was hyped to be. Kovalev has also been in VADA the last 6 weeks, Canelo hasn't.

Canelo is going to fight a 36 year old Kovalev two months after a war with a huge puncher. He's going to fight the worst ever version of Kovalev, not just a past prime version, as if that wasn't enough, but a damaged Kovalev who won't even be able to do an 8 week camp. He will probably have to heal up the next month and then get in a 5 and a half week camp for November 2.

Gotta make the cash cow look good. Gotta make him look spectacular. Gotta make him sell. This is how it's done. Canelo is going to go down as the best boxer of this era, even though he's not top 10. I mean he's top ten right now but of the entire era, comparing to prime Kovalev, etc, he's not as good. But the are going to make it look that way.

I remember a few years ago, Kovalev and GGG were both regarded as A or A+ fighters in the sport, Canelo was viewed as A-. But by controlling when fights happen, you can make the A- guy look like the A+ guy, and get him wins over the A+ guy. Canelo will probably have wins over GGG and Kovalev on his resume before he retires. It's hilarious. Shows how misleading just looking at names on a resume are. WHEN YOU FIGHT THEM is what really matters.

But casual Canelo fans will eat up the bull****, man.
It’s disgusting how everyone let’s GBP manipulate all aspects of the fight game.

I agree that the Kovalev that fought Yarde tonight beats up Canelo Alvarez; he’s too big, strong and he has good enough skills to really frustrate Canelo Alvarez.

Hopefully, Kovalev recuperates enough and Buddy McGirt comes up with great game plan but I suspect he will he severely drained because Canelo Alvarez will demand a 170 weight limit.

Overall I agree with you here man...especially if Nelo fights Kov with no weight restrictions...which I feel is unlikely...no one should really hate on that.

Kov is the biggest name at 175 and for that reason it makes sense...I personally feel that Nelo and his team are following Floyd's blueprint of taking on certain matchups, 100% on their terms, to shift the scales in their favor...and get some good scalps for Nelo while possibly avoiding harder challengers.

But as you said, if he fought Smith or someone else, people would say he was picking him for a reason and would give him hell...I think at the end of the day you can't go wrong giving the fans the fight they want to see.

That would still probably be the GGG fight for Nelo...and that's where he can look a little bad imo - that's the biggest fight still right now and for him to go another direction will lead to people accusing him of taking an easier route...especially if he puts weight clauses etc in the deal with another fighter.

But Kov isn't a bad option either...based on matchups I feel he is the best matchup for Nelo to win at 175..but he is also the biggest name and I think maybe still the best at 175...no one really knows what the other top 3 guys have there.

I do hope it comes with no pre-conditions if Nelo and Kov do fight though - then if Nelo wins people will have to give him some credit there.

I respectfully disagree...imo Yarde was a formidable challenger and brought some things to the table that the 3 top guys don't have the same combination of...size, strength, athleticism, power...decent boxer too.

I think Kov will look more comfortable in there against Bivol the Nail or Beterbiev...whether or not he wins I don't know...but I do still think he is the best boxer of the 4 of them...he shouldn't have to fight all 3 though...he has proven himself...let a couple of them fight and then Kov can get the winner.

This dude has under 30 fughin fights in all of his career
Pro and amateur , what exactly did he bring to the table
                    I just don’t get it
You comparing three notable champions to Anthony Yarde
Sorry but in total hallucination mode right now

                    • Kovalev looking beatable. Maybe that's why he wanted to cash out against Canelo.
