If canelo picked Bivol ppl would say hes ducking Callum Smith or Kovalev as the haters were saying before he made kov the 1st real payday offer of his career that even included a 6 figure 4 yarde to step aside. These same clowns downplaying Kovalev now were hanging off his balls & saying canelo was just name dropping & ducking him & wouldn't ever fight him at 175.

Hating ass clowns are a disease to boxing(im not saying you because I don't know you)

This is why we can't have nice fights between 2 future hofers because ppl refuse to give credit when a fighter does what everyone always crys other fighters don't
Callum Smith is a B-level GGG with longer arms. No one says Canelo is ducking him. Canelo's team always tries to push that fight, I never see fans asking for it. That's the easiest fight for Canelo at 168 or 175, even before Kovalev.

If Canelo fought Bivol at 175, no one would say ****, and you know it. There would be nothing to say. Bivol is small for 175 but he ain't small for Canelo, so there's literally nothing else to say.

I agree that the Kovalev that fought Yarde tonight beats up Canelo Alvarez; he’s too big, strong and he has good enough skills to really frustrate Canelo Alvarez.

Hopefully, Kovalev recuperates enough and Buddy McGirt comes up with great game plan but I suspect he will he severely drained because Canelo Alvarez will demand a 170 weight limit.
Yeah I mean Yarde aint perfect but he's a crusierweight, let's be real, and a heavy handed one. Kovalev tonight took his best shots. Kovalev tonight took his pressure, a 200 lbs muscular puncher's pressure, for 12 rounds. Canelo would score more points than Yarde but people saying Canelo would stop that version of Kovalev, no. Yarde is a much better stopper at 175 than Canelo, even if hes not a better boxer, and he didnt stop Kovalev. Therefore we're talking a points fight, and even scoring more points, than Yarde, Canelo doesnt have the active jab of Kovalev to outpoint him, the reach, the height should help Kovalev, etc etc. Tonight's Kovalev would have beaten Canelo on points or stopped him from fatigue at some point.

So it does really make me think GBP planned it this way. Kathy Duva literally said they finally made Kovalev an acceptable offer... 1 day after the deadline to pull out of the contract with Yarde, lol. That can't be coincidence, can it?

Either that, or GBP lucked out by accident. Who knows. Maybe I shouldnt complain, apparently Kathy offered Yarde the Kovalev fight a year ago, on the Alvarez I date, and Team Yarde declined. If Yarde could have performed the same that night as today, vs that pre-Buddy Kovalev, he might have stopped that Kovalev. And because he was mandatory, there wouldnt have been any rematch clause like there was with Alvarez, because Alvarez was a voluntary, and Kovalev might have gotten blocked out, although most likely Bivol would have still given him a shot by now.

So I mean, he lost to Alvarez anyway. And we have no idea what would have happened. But the Canelo thing, Im almost certain tonight's Kovalev would have won, so it really is annoying. The good but overrated ducker (til guys get old, which is the worst kind of duck IMO) Canelo just keeps catching one break after another, just like they all seem to lately. Wilder with the 12th round vs Fury an the judges. Ward catching Kovalev at a perfect time. The fact it keeps happening so consistently makes me think it's more than luck, and that the networks themselves, the billionaires who probably have inside info with the casinos and everyone to really know exactly where each fighter is at at all times, what PEDs they are on, what shape they're in, etc etc, it makes me think those are the guys who only put up money for those fights to happen when they know the time is perfect for the cash cow.

Like did Canelo duck GGG until he was old, of course, but had HBO offered Canelo a 50 million guarantee for that fight back when GGG was prime, Canelo might have taken it. There is always a price. Look at the crazy offers guys are getting now. Look what Fox helped put up to make Spence vs Mikey Garcia, rather than, apparently, ESPN putting it up for Mikey vs Loma, because they wanted Spence, the American star, to get that scalp, not Loma. And it seems to constantly just magically happen this way. I get both Spence and Mikey are with PBC, but still it keeps happening this way across the board. GGG and Canelo were both with the same network, HBO, and HBO never pushed it hard at all until GGG was old, then Max Kellerman says on live TV "the timing has never been better for the Canelo-GGG fight" right after GGG almost lost to A- Daniel Jacobs.

HBO never put the foot down with Andre Ward to go to his natural weight 175 and fight Kovalev until Kovalev was about to be 33 years old and they probably knew about his bad habits spiraling out of control at that time. Idk. Maybe Im just conspiricizing but how many breaks are cash cows going to keep getting? I feel like we will go our entire lifetimes now before someone like Floyd or Canelo takes another loss to someone who actually deserves the spotlight in the sport. Meanwhile Oscar took plenty of losses and it was no big deal, helped create other stars. Idk what's going on now but it's ruining the sport.

        • Kovalev is done... he's done since like three years ago, but now he's also very old for a Russian fighter (who sometimes drinks)...

... I hope Kova gets that Canelo money and delivers a "nice
exhibition fight"... then ride into the sunset...

Yarde will try to cherry-pick another old fighter if he ever moves up up to cruiserweight no doubt. I can see Anthony trying his luck with Ilunga Makabu ; who unlike Yarde had success on this card, hehe.

We just seen why Anthony ducked Artur Beterbiev and sent his fellow countryman Callum Johnson to slaughter. Funny that Callum did better against Beterbiev than Yarde vs. Kovalev, these two bums should fight.

The fight is rumored for November 2nd. That's 9 or 10 weeks from now. Kovalev just had an extended 11 round war with a cruiserweight huge puncher, someone who looked like a Beterbiev type puncher in there today, to my surprise. Someone who may have been enhanced with PEDs with the fight being in Russia, and how unnatural Yarde's body appeared to me and how his chin performed.

Canelo can fight a still recovering, damaged Kovalev. When Cormier fought Miocic 5 months after Miocic's fight with Ngannou, Cormier KO'd him with 1 punch. When they rematched after Miocic had a year off, Miocic took 100 big punches and didn't go down.

His chin was still damaged 5 months after a hard fight. Kovalev probably took more damage in this fight than Miocic did in that fight, and instead of 5 months, he's getting 2 months. This fight is a joke. The sport pays lip service to fighter safety but that's all it is. Canelo is allowed to delay fights and stall everyone's careers for zero reason, but delaying it a couple months so Kovalev doesn't put his life at 10 times more risk than normal, that's not something we're even supposed to talk about or consider. This sport is a joke. I'll hope for the best Kovalev, and for his safety, but I'll be expecting more hashtag boxing bull****.
Tim Bradley after awful brawl with Provodnikov gave even decent fight to Pacman and after fight with Provo you could think he would spend rest of his life in bed drooling over like a vegetable but he gave decent fight to Pacman. Why wouldn't Kovo do the same thing and i am sure if Kovalev would not drink as much Vodka as he did prior to Yard fight he would whoop Canelo's ass and knock him out with his jab

... so far, Yarde wasn't trained properly... he needs an year or so to prepare under the guidance of some real coach... at this point we can see that the kid has talent and power, but nothing else... (he started boxing at 18 yo)...
