Wrong again. Remember anyone from 154-168 in late 2014. They were asked if that included Ward...they said yes. Ward responded and said he was interested but needed time to get ring rust off as he hadn't fought since 2013. Excerpt from thaboxingvoice below.

Sanchez quoted Ward who said he would take a couple of fights too, “Get back on track”. Undoubtedly to shake off any ring rust, which Sanchez says is fine and welcomes the best version of Ward to face Golovkin.

“I think Gennady would rather face (Andre) when he’s at 100% so that way there’s no excuses,” Sanchez said.

Ward comes back mid 2015 and what do you know....GGG would only want the fight at 164 right after saying he'd fight JCC Jr at full 168.

The 164 talk (while I never liked it) was in response to Ward wanting 50/50. They conceded to Froch and Chavez at 168 because they were bigger stars, as Golovkin would have fought Froch in Britain and Chavez would sell against anybody in those years. Ward was in no way a bigger star than Golovkin, even at that time. If Ward would have conceded to a smaller split instead of 50/50, I'm sure team GGG would have went back on 164.

There was never an ask from Ward for what you said to be accurate.

“GGG is now clearly the ‘A’ side yet Ward still would want to dictate terms, which makes no sense,” Loeffler said to ESPN. “GGG would fight Ward on a 50-50 basis, the best 160-pounder versus the best 168-pounder [at] 164 [and] a 50-50 split on all proceeds. But it seems like Ward needs more tuneup fights.”

Loeffler made this statement in an email to Fat Dan. Not in response to any comms with Ward team. He's on record saying he didn't make any offers to Ward.

Ward offered 50/50, which team GGG declined. Ward wasn't in a position to be getting 50/50 so that's why they came back with 50/50 on everything including weight, which is why 164 came about.

Wrong. Again...Loeffler has acknowledged that. The RNS came AFTER the Lemieux fight. The email to Fat Dan was in July 2015.

              On July 27, 2018
No offer at all and I didn’t put any terms out there, there were never any negotiations. That was a private email exchange with an @espn writer that was not meant to be publicized. RNS made an offer after we announced the Lemieux unification fight, which sold out THEGarden

Ward is on record saying that his offer split everything including weight. The Loeffler response was "Maybe 2017". Those are the facts.

                    you missed the point....

you do not get to use " no name doe " as an excuse to justify why Mr "anyone from 154-168" ducked Andre Ward.....

and then in the same breath insist that Nobodykin somehow had the right to step in front of Martinez money-fight with Cotto, or to step in front of Cotto's money-fight with Canelo

Hypekin had done nothing to earn the right to step in front of those other guys... and guess what, he still hasn't

feasting on mid-level no-hopers is NOT " putting in the work "

enjoy the Murata fight... rather than the Andrade/Charlo fight

Yes he did. His team tried to make it happen. They weren't successful until Canelo put his big boy pants on in 2017.

I don't take anything seriously when it comes out of Sanchez' mouth. GGG wasn't a trash talker but all Sanchez ever did was talk. He's said that thing you said he did but then he's also talked crap about Ward not being a draw worthy of a fight with GGG.

The way I look at it is this. Was GGG willing to take the fight with Ward? Yes. But Golovkin and his team's primary goal was to get the mandatory fight they had earned when they beat Marco Rubio in October 2014. Just as GGG wasn't a big enough draw to stand in the way of Canelo/Cotto Andre Ward wasn't a big enough draw to have GGG give up his mandatory shot at whomever held the belt between those two guys. Moving up to fight Ward would have probably cost him his shot at the winner of Canelo/Cotto especially in the likely even he lost. In May of 2016 Canelo made the decision to vacate the belt which was then awarded to GGG. Unfortunately, Ward had already made his 175 pound debut by that point and said he wasn't able to make it back to 168 for a fight with GGG. But you might be saying, well GGG would have gone up to 168 to fight JCCjr and Froch? Of course. Both guys were objectively bigger draws. Maybe they wouldn't have been able to earn GGG a Canelo level payday but they would have made him a lot more money than a fight with Ward. With Cotto running back to 154 and Canelo dragging his feet they were the next best options for a big money fight.
