Like I said beforehand, if GGG claims the title, he'll be more than happy to play out his contract fighting B level opposition which is his comfort zone. He loves throwing Canelo's name out for publicity but if he really wanted the third fight badly he wouldn't have been trying to dictate the location and date coming off a loss and no title. With a title, his demands will only increase despite being the b side.

yes, GGG ducked a novice who was quite capable of being a failed contender. This is fine by me.

I would prefer the trilogy fight but I wouldn't be disappointed as long as other good fights happened.

That's most people's point. GGG has been on a Alvarez or bum mission since Dec 2016. The two decent fights he will have had in that 3 year span were ordered not chisen.

I don't blame him. The Canelo fight was his career defining fight. He was ducked by the big money superstars for most of his career and when finally lures one in the ring its at the tail end of his career. Even though he feels like he won both fights unless he gets that W on his record history will be written to show that he couldn't pull off a win when he finally got his shot.

What big money stars were at 160 to duck him? I agree that Alvarez is his career defining fight. That in itself should set off alarms and explains why he won't fight guys like Charlo, Andrade, or Jacobs rematch. In his mind (at least it seems to me) his career has no real definition in long term boxing history if he cannot defeat Alvarez cleanly or officially.

I feel he could erase all of that with a belt at 168 or wins over Andrade and Charlo. However, I understand the financial aspect of his approach.
