This is were I’m leaning. Alvarez got Kovalev out there and Yarde looks the part.

Problem is better bodies don’t win boxing fights. Just look at AJ Ruiz 😂

People forget what Kovalev was BEFORE Andre Ward. He was mean, brutal, animal. Ward just did the same with a SMARTER game-plan in their fight.
Ward’s right. The kid has NO CHANCE. Hes going to be brutalized.
KO late as Ward said is my thoughts.

I'm with Ward on this one. With the Canelo fight looming, Kovalev can't afford to lose this one.
If the russian hasn't been training, anything could happen.

Let's not forget, when Ward fought Sergey he was a geezer himself, he hasn't fought since. Ward beat Sergey in the last fight of his career. Ward knows what time it is, it's a young man's game.

Here was the dirtiest moment though. This single punch - and it was DIRTY - ended the fight

Nope. It was the barrage of punches that Ward landed below the belt about a minute later that ended the fight.

Is this a concern. I was listening to some call in podcast & some cats were bringing this up like its nearly a fact Kovalev has been f#cking off this training. Anyone here anything or is that just wishful thinking by the Kovalev haters &/or UK fanboys.

Any YT dorks seen any of the Kovalev & McGirt training footage by chance. I know I've not seen any pop up on my feed, but that could mean something or mean nothing at all.

Yeah, I keep going back and forth between Ward's assessment which was my initial impression and the idea that the more patient and methodical Kovalev (probably by necessity) seen getting redemption against Alvarez is the new normal and he'll probably just be content to box Yarde's ears off unless a very clear opportunity presents itself. In the same way I think the more tactical Canelo in with Jacobs (also probably by necessity; lots of miles at 28) will be the new norm going forward.

Naw. Kovalev wilted after Ward landed that right hand.

                      It was academic from there.
