The sad thing is this fight stands a very good chance of being Mayweather's next fight, and camp Mayweather making it a legit fight based on Baldomir's win over Gatti.

I think his camp would spin it by using names, like saying Mosley doesnt want a piece, hatton doesnt want him, DLH doesnt want him. It will be easy not to mention margarito since nobody knows who he is, therefore even though he got out of fighting him, nobody will really notice since he can use those other names as leverage, not to mention the undisputed title. The win over gatti means little, calling the shots unquestionably at 147 means everything

You still dont give the respect that Carlos deserves, he beat 2 top fighters, and has been undeafeated for just over 8 years. There is no B game C game when your a top fighter. Carlos beat the best southpaw in the welterweight division and beat Gatti better than Mayweather ever did or could.

Gatti was past his prime when both mayweather and corlos fought him. Baldy stopped him in better fashion. In the BALDY fight, Gatti couldnt physically go on. In the MAYWEATHER fight, gattis corner stopped the fight because they didnt want to see another round. Gatti wanted to go on.

Ever heard the saying, "styles make fights."???? because thats pretty much why carlos couldnt dominate over gatti the same way mayweather did.

If they fought (mayweather-baldy) i would think that mayweather would win a UD (no way ur stopping a guy that tough), but i sure as hell would be rooting for baldy.

I think PBF stopped gatti in much better fashion. Gatti's corner had to stop the fight and it was the right thing to do. Gatti had no answer for floyd's offense, And if it wasn't stopped worse could have happened than in the baldomir fight.

Exactly how I see it. I have a tremendous amount of respect for Baldomir. He is like a Glen Johnson who simply gets the job done even if its not pretty. On the other hand, I think Floyd is simply too skilled and too fast.

The recent string of victories by WBC welterweight champion Carlos Baldomir has catapulted the Argentine fighter to elite status among the welterweights.

Floyd Mayweather, Jr. is the current number one contender to the crown of Baldomir, and Mayweather has an open slot for his scheduled November 4 pay-per-view.

There are some in the media that give Baldomir a chance, a shot, even a good shot, of giving Mayweather trouble and even pulling off an upset.

Don't get me wrong, Mayweather received plenty of accolades for beating Arturo Gatti and Zab Judah, and I'm not here to say Carlos Baldomir should not get any respect for the same wins, but I will say that Baldomir's wins should not unrealistic scenarios of an upset.

In my opinion, Baldomir pulling off an upset over Mayweather would rank in the same category as Buster Douglas pulling off the upset over Mike Tyson in 1990. [details]

Baldomir wouldn't win a single round against Floyd. I wouldn't even be surprised if PBF KO's him from an accumulation of punches but if Floyd chooses to fight Boldi it wouldn't look too good for his image after declining to fight Margarito.
