Make No Mistake, Floyd Would Spank Baldomir

The recent string of victories by WBC welterweight champion Carlos Baldomir has catapulted the Argentine fighter to elite status among the welterweights.

Floyd Mayweather, Jr. is the current number one contender to the crown of Baldomir, and Mayweather has an open slot for his scheduled November 4 pay-per-view.

There are some in the media that give Baldomir a chance, a shot, even a good shot, of giving Mayweather trouble and even pulling off an upset.

Don't get me wrong, Mayweather received plenty of accolades for beating Arturo Gatti and Zab Judah, and I'm not here to say Carlos Baldomir should not get any respect for the same wins, but I will say that Baldomir's wins should not unrealistic scenarios of an upset.

In my opinion, Baldomir pulling off an upset over Mayweather would rank in the same category as Buster Douglas pulling off the upset over Mike Tyson in 1990. [details]

120-108 scores across the board for Floyd.

It would be another day in the office for Mayweather. Easy work.

well there are alot of people debating this and I saw a bunch of writers on a different site saying that Floyd would never fight a guy like Baldy now because Floyd knows that he would give him hell.

Its the only reason why I want to see the fight because I personaly dont think Baldy can win a single round and I actually think Floyd may stop him despite his chin because Floyd will be landing so much and blocking all of Baldy's shots or just flat out making him miss. I do think Baldy is good and I may favor him over Hatton & Cotto and I would give him a solid chance againt Margarito & possibly Mosley but Floyd is just a horrible matchup for him with his speed & boxing ability. Shane's speed is probally too much also but Shane isnt the boxer that Floyd is so it wouldnt surprise me if Baldy gave him trouble

I know you think Floyd is running from Margarito but if they did fight then how do you think it would play out?

I don't care about this, I'd rather not read about how Mayweather "would" beat this champ or that champ. He's effectively jumped over two weight classes in search of DLH and Mosley.

I'd rather have seen him fight Hatton to be the champ at 140 (I know Hattons camp weren't keen but mayweather could have made a bigger deal of it. And I'd rather him fight Baldomir or Margarito, the top dogs at 147.

Writers should stop wasting ink imagining victories for PBF in fights he hasn't fought. This is something to do when he's retired.

You still dont give the respect that Carlos deserves, he beat 2 top fighters, and has been undeafeated for just over 8 years. There is no B game C game when your a top fighter. Carlos beat the best southpaw in the welterweight division and beat Gatti better than Mayweather ever did or could.

and why the NUT-HUGGING article title? shows your ignorance when you title it, "Make No Mistake, Floyd Would Spank Baldomir"

show some god dam respect for CARLOS, and please try and wrte an un-biased article for a change with making out Mayweather is some GOD.

well in that case so did Mayweather, as it was only 2 fights before that they fought. Which was tail-end of his carrer.

You are so quick to say that Carlos was fighting a past his prime Gatti, yet you didnt say Mayweather also fought a past his prime version of Gatti

The article is poor, and the author is saying something that noone needs to hear. Its a shame BS couldn't publish something more constructive, as this doesn't really deserve to be put on a premier boxing website IMHO.
