I guess you're right, but it should definitely be 2nd. Besides, people bet on the underdog a lot more today than they used to. If Douglas vs. Tyson was happening in the internet era, I guarantee message boards would be flooded with talks of Douglas upsetting him, especially from guys like cold. Now that people can communicate more easily about the fight and on an every hour basis, people get swayed easily or say crazy **** and end up betting on it. 2nd biggest upset in history though, regardless of what the odds turn out to be.
Yeah, but your right it would go down as one of the biggest upset in history if Baldomir could somehow pull it off
The sad thing is this fight stands a very good chance of being Mayweather's next fight, and camp Mayweather making it a legit fight based on Baldomir's win over Gatti.
No that's not sad to me. If it's gonna happen then by all means let's see this happen. I don't see anything wrong in these two fighters settling an issue.
While PBF enjoys far more higher stature than Baldy, he is listed at the number 2 man behind Baldy in this division, so let's get this on!
How I wish that Hatton and Margarito could fight for a unification too.
The recent string of victories by WBC welterweight champion Carlos Baldomir has catapulted the Argentine fighter to elite status among the welterweights.
Floyd Mayweather, Jr. is the current number one contender to the crown of Baldomir, and Mayweather has an open slot for his scheduled November 4 pay-per-view.
There are some in the media that give Baldomir a chance, a shot, even a good shot, of giving Mayweather trouble and even pulling off an upset.
Don't get me wrong, Mayweather received plenty of accolades for beating Arturo Gatti and Zab Judah, and I'm not here to say Carlos Baldomir should not get any respect for the same wins, but I will say that Baldomir's wins should not unrealistic scenarios of an upset.
In my opinion, Baldomir pulling off an upset over Mayweather would rank in the same category as Buster Douglas pulling off the upset over Mike Tyson in 1990. [details]
i dont see why a guy who started out @ 126 vs a guy whos been fighting @ 147 his ENTIRE career and the 147 pounder wins the fight is such a SUPER upset? just like roberto duran lost to kirland lang and many other nobodies @ 154
