I saw him STRUGGLE against Rangel for the first 4-5 rounds and then coming on strong and knocking him out late. This was the supposed "focused' Augustus.

After that I saw him struggle with a 13 fight novice in Herman Ngoudjo (No one here saw that fight except for the Canadians...he is considered the worst Canadian prospect btw) and he was again struggling and lost a close but clear majority decision.

Augustus would never do jack **** against the top level guys. It would warm my heart for any top 10 fighter to steamroll him and shutup all the know-nothins here.

You're back less than a day and you're already back to being a jackass.

People like Augustus because he entertains and has been a journeyman all his life.

If he was just another ****ty fighter, why do so many people like him? Because he's been an underdog, grew up poor and never caught a break and fought all comers from the time he was 20.

Just look back at his resume at who he's been an oppoment for, who he's fought on little to no notice.

You lash out because you're wanting to feel like you can speak like an authority about something, but you have no idea what you're talking about.

No ones saying Augustus 'deserves' anything. People want to see him get a shot at a top fighter the same way they wanted to see Chuck Wepner fight Ali in the 70's, and for the same reason boxing fans love the Movie Rocky.

These days, ALL KINDS of fighters are getting unwarrented title shots at guys who hold single versions of titles.

People like Augustus because he entertains and comes to fight, and there's nothing wrong with that. That's the reason he's fought on ESPN more than any other fighter outside Mickey Ward, who IS a similar callibur fighter.

Augsutus won't likely get a shot at anyone big unless there's a freak occurance of events.

This fight he almost had with Vivian Harris is a perfect example. Someone said HBO received a few thousand phone calls over a few days from people that wanted to see Augustus take that fight.

The risk isn't worth the reward .

I think it would be great to see him fight Gatti sometime early next year in Atlantic City. That fight would be popular the same way Ward Gatti was despite no signifigant title being on the line.

It would be two exciting fighters going at it, and I'm sure Augustus would jump at the chance to fight Gatti in Atlantic City.

Augustus is a delusional fighter and a complete joke. So what if he bloodied Mayweather's mouth. He lost every ****ing round anyway. Who has he ever beat that somebody can say hey, that was a great win by Augustus. Give me a break.

It's really funny. If he had a big fight with a top 5-10 guy on HBO/Showtime the only fans he would be entertaining would be his oppositions. He would get steamrolled every single round, and he wouldn't win a round. ****, this **** makes me chuckle.

Who has he ever fought that he's had a full training camp for?

He was 20 and 21 years old and was fighting guys like Ivan Robinson and Diosbelys Hurtado and pressing them the whole way. His career is full of names he went the distance wight and gave tough fights to as an opponent brought in to lose.

Fighting Mayweather on two weeks notice and pressing in on him the entire time is very admirable, and when you hear Mayweather talk about how tough a fight Augustus gave him you get a better idea of why people like the guy and want to see him.

All of your crying and hating isn't going to change that.

You're another guy who looks at his record on paper and wants to spout off like you know what you're talking about. Everyone knows you took up the sport two years ago and haven't seen the MAJORITY of fights and fighters you talk about.

This is exactly what makes you a joke.

You have no idea what you're talking about, and have seen 3 or 4 Augustus fights if you're Lucky.

He schooled Daniel Trujillo, Courtney Burton, and Ray Ollivera in recent years.

If he has the time to train, he'd be a tough fight for anyone, and could EASILLY beat a guy of Vivian Harris' callibur.

                    Let see:

                    A) That fight took place years before you were a boxing fan and when you were still more concerned with popping pimples

                    B) Making light of that fight when it's widely considered one of the best scraps of the last 5 - 10 years really shows how ignorant you are.

The point is a fight like that is EXACTLY why there's so many people that like Augustus, and like to talk about him.

You just troll into the threads and do a fine example of showing everyone how you're just an ignorant little post-teen who has no idea what he's talking about.

Diego, it's funny to see these Augustus supporters hold there head high about the fact that Augustus took all of these guys the distance. We have a guy who never took his career SERIOUSLY yet we have a bunch of fans making excuses for him. What a joke.

I think all of them are forgetting the fight he just lost. He was fighting an unknown mexican in Arizona. Lost a points decision. What about Ngoudjo who he lost to a clear, but close points decision.

But naw, he's fantastic. You seen his double punch? Shietttt.
