Bruseles was the eliminator to fight Gatti, Hatton already was going to solidify his fight with Tszyu, Cotto wasnt going to get in the ring with him, we saw what happened to Vivian Harris, Margarito ISNT an eliminator, he is a minor belt holder that no one really knows. Why care about him when you can either go after LUCRATIVE fights like Baldomir (who is the 147 king weather you ****in like it or not) or the other fights i mentioned in my other post.

This is the mistake that most boxing fans on this site make, you underestimate the importance of the common casual fan. You disregard that most people dont watch boxing, many people simply just like a few good fights here and there, establishing a name is what boxing is mostly about, getting a resume, having fights that people have seen or know about. The casual fan doesnt know who this guy is no matter how hard all of you try to kid yourselves. Infact, the casual fan doesnt know too many names outside of De La Hoya and Tyson. But at the least, floyd has the BIGGER name of the two, and the established resume even if its not incredibly great in his (1 year) tenure at 147. Infact, Floyd hasnt even been at welter for even a full year and Margarito is begging like a homeless bum looking for a handout to fight Mayweather.

People like to compare this guy to forrest, or wright, but those guys called out EVERYBODY, and fought anyone and everyone that they could, they also didint have guys like arum lobbying for them like they do this guy. I definetly agree with the bolded part. Mayweather is probably the biggest star in boxing other then Gatti and DLH and formerly, Tyson. I suspect Mayweather may be building himself up to be the new Sugar Ray Leonard. Good looking guy, somewhat 'respectful', treats the media great, and in turn the media respects him back. Which is really what the media is doing now.

You are somewhat right about comparing FOrrest/Wright to Margarito. Only difference is Wright targeted Tito and Mosley who were shadow's of their former selves, they brought on bags load of cash for him (at the time), and it was a good deal. Which big star can Margarito really call out at welterweight. Arum won't feed Cotto to him because Cotto is becoming a big star and Cotto hasn't looked very good lately. Who else is established? No one.

Arum is smart. He knows his only chance to make money is for a huge fight with Mayweather. That's why he's matching Margarito up really soft. He doesn't wnat Margarito looking like a weak link when and if they try to negotiate later in the year.

You should look at Ouma now: nobody gives a **** about him because he was soundly beaten by a non-elite fighter in Karmazin. Maybe Margarito would be in the same spot if he'd take on everything 147 has to offer below the elite level. I'm all for finding out how good this guy actually is before insisting that any star fight him. But it makes no sense from a business standpoint from Margarito to fight Floyd when he is seen as the big guy here.

Now it's obvious with Floyd that he want's Oscar. Oscar is irresistible to PBF for four reasons:

1. Gigantic money (But not all that much more than he would get for Margarito because Oscar takes the lion's share when he fights, and PB simply will not get 50% againt Oscar).

2. It is his daddy's fighter (even if he decides not to work the corner. But knowing the history of those socially ***********al clowns I can expect Floyd Sr. to get riled up by some comment of his son's during the foreplay and decide to help Oscar beat the tar out of the boy after all).

3. Arum badly wants the Margarito fight. PB wants to punish the *** though.

4. Easy fight, easy victory. Oscar won't **** you all up like Margie and bruise you everywhere so that you are sore for days afterward even in victory. Against old Oscar you just coast and cruise to a victory, outbox him, put on some combinations. He doesn't have the legs to pursue. He can't steal any rounds against you either. If their is any round stealing it the last thirty seconds, you will be the one to do it, possessing all the tools for the job, flash, speed, cleverness, not much power but plenty of surprise in the punches.

Again, it doesnt matter, Floyd wasnt going after shane after vargas because they decided to rematch like 2 weeks after Vargas lost the fight, so again, your wrong...just wrong.
