What it breaks down to is when some people are hurt they back off, others get crazy, focused and aggressive when hurt.

When you hurt Wilder you have to finish the job and cannot wear him down slowly. Again there is a reason for this: Wilder does not have to win rounds, get points. He only has to make sure he hits you enough times to finish the job once. So if you win a whole bunch of rounds, or not...Its all the same for Wilder. For him to win is a numbers game. He has to connect enough times. I can't think of a better example than his Fury fight.
Can't argue with this one ,I think its also why hes heading into rough waters with Ortiz and Fury again ,don't like him against a combination power puncher a potential AJ match either /I think he gets by an aged Ortiz though. History refelects you only go so far relying on power ,I gave him an L in the Fury fight.

Let's see we have one guy who is a light fisted COUNTER PUNCHER who's greatest asset is being elusive versus one of the HARDEST PUNCHERS in HISTORY who has literally KOed EVERYBODY he has ever faced with the exception of ONE who he dropped TWICE......

Hmmmmmm I wonder who has the better chance of a KO?!?!?

I strongly think that there won't be any Wilder/Fury rematch before the unification. Fury is just promoting his next fight. Did we hear anything from Shelly Finkel? He always addresses the media whenever there is an update.

It every conondrum was to be settled with common sense, we would not need to think deeply about any situation. My dog has common sense, and Aristotle venerated it, but warned that it is not all inclusive. Sometimes things are not as they appear.

For example, lets say we have a bet: I have a snake that is one of the largest, most intelligent, most vicious, most well equipped predators...It even eats other snakes its same size...We will call it a King Cobra. I also have a furry little rodent thing, that is not generally known for being an apex predator, but likes to fight King Cobras...we will call it a Mongoose. Ill give you two to one on the mongoose.... Common sense right?

You do of course know that mongoose owns cobras. Things are not always as they appear right? For example, Fury actually has a fairly respectable KO percentage. Also, he did buzz Wilder if you watch tape of that fight. Also, its coming up from time to time that nobody has tried to finish Wilder...Ortiz couldn't and Fury didn't take the risk of trying. So we don't know how Fury will respond to such an onslaught quite yet, do we?

This fight could wind up with a Wilder KO. It looks more realistic when you look closely and carefully at Wilder and Fury.

Hey I actually like this post! You have made a valid point but that is one that can be made for ANY sporting event which is why they play the games or in this case have the fights.

I actually was saying that I see a KO by WILDER but not because of what I think Wilder is saying he will do but more because of what Tyson is saying HE IS CONSIDERING!!!

Yes I am a Wilder fan but I believe that Tyson is easily a MUCH BETTER BOXER!

If he boxes Wilder I believe that Tyson has a good chance of defeating Wilder

            BUT

If he tries to beat Wilder by PRESSING FORWARD.....

HE IS GOING TO GET PAJAMAS PUT ON HIM!!!

Anyone stepping into Wilder's power punches will eventually get KOed. He is just that powerful.

I did like your analogy though

Fury wants a war this time.

He's gonna show us "Gypsy Style."

What exactly is that? We'll find out in 2020.

Thank you, The analogy was the first part, here is the second part. precident. When Evander Fought Tyson, not since the Baer Braddock fight did people actually fear that a fighter would be seriously maimed... Tyson was going to crush Holy... He was shot, yada yada. Don Turner had coached Holy and taught him something very simple...in fact something used in Ju Jutsu as a principle for unbalancing an opponent.

He told Holy not to go back, not to back off of Mike, but to push in and put him on his heels (called triangulating someone in some schools of Jitz) He said that when Mike was trying to push back, attack... Holy, who loved to slug it out, was not ******. He knew that he better be coached in this one. So despite what everyone thought to be, a very smart boxing man knew better.

Fury probably understands the same thing: The precedent here. To beat a puncher unbalance a puncher, go into him, and when he tried to set, attack him. Pressing forwards may seem a crazy thing to do, but if you understand how balance works, and how a puncher works, it is a legitimate strategy for beating a puncher. Punchers are into numbers: the great model for the perfect punching heavyweight, Louis basically could be slow and methodical...as long as he knew he would hit you solid, maybe...oh lets say 15 times in a fight... Making that number up.

Punchers get their prey when a guy tries to get away, or when a guy tries to follow them. When getting away they cut the ring off, when a guy follows a puncher, he walks into a trap. Punchers do not like, when someone comes in to them and makes their base unsteady. Watch how Schmelling beat Louis the first time. He countered a lazy right and it made Louis unable to throw that punch or anything off that punch.

So Fury deciding to go into Wilder and disrupt his base by attacking him is a good strategy provided he makes Wilder go on his heels when backing up. He might even knock Wilder out doing this. Wilder can be hurt, and has been. Wilder wants to be able to find Fury in the ring at will that is his strategy. If Fury tries to evade him all night it will be a long hard fight for him to win. I actually think Fury realizes this. We shall see. It will be a decent scrap for sure.
