Hopefully Pac refuses to fight Spence. When he tries to complain on twitter Roach and Pac can tell him he needs to fight Crawford making him look like a fool to the entire boxing community.

      Nice theory.

      I doubt it will happen.

Bud won't go anywhere near Ugas.

The optics are just against it.

Bud isn't going to KO Ugas in spectacular fashion.

Hell, it's a fight that Terrence could actually lose.

What likely happens is a close, rugged fight...exactly the thing Bud doesn't need to advance the idea he is elite in the division.

Bud isn't going to fight ANYONE with a real chance of beating him until Errol.

He beat the WBC world champion GGG to become the WBC world champion. He vacated the WBC world championship and was named franchise champion, a fancy way of saying he's champion emeritus. What does any of that have to do with Crawford?

If he loses his next fight does the winner become Franchise Champ?
You know the answer is no. What does that have to do with Crawford?

Look, you're one of the best posters on the site. There's no reason to have a meltdown just because I pointed out that all of your examples had something in common you were over looking -- a rival champ fighting the WBC interim/diamond champ. There's nothing to fight about.

So beating the WBC champ is how the become Franchise champ. What other WBC champs have become Franchise champ after winning the title & vacating it?

If Crawford becomes by far the biggest star in boxing and the cash cow of the entire sport, and becomes Mexican, and wins the WBC world championship, I'm sure the WBC would give him special rights if he wants to avoid his mandatory.

So the WBC went out of it's was to make up a rule that enables Canelo to make big fights happen, right?

The WBC, a Mexican organization, went out of its way to save face when Mexico's hero ditched their belt for the second time.

So what you're saying is the WBC aren't such a stickler for rules & are willing to make up rules if it benefits them?

Never said they were sticklers for rules. WBC rules already say they can make up any rule they want.

What I'm saying is that they're not going to sanction a rival champ fighting a contender in an eliminator and Crawford wouldn't be willing to do it anyway.

So the premise of your thread is flawed. Prompted by examples that don't apply. Stop back pedaling. 99% of your threads are great. This one sucks. Move on.
