Not really. Eddie has had a rough go of it since the DAZN deal. Joshua is just the current rock bottom.

I think the problem with trying to crack the American tv / streaming market is no one wanted Hearn to succeed from the off
Who's no one. I think thats a bit dramatic.

Obviously competitors don't want DAZN to win, but DAZN doesn't want ESPN & PBC to win either. Thats par for the course & should go without saying.

Lol... Not gonna happen. U can't force the man to fight in saudi.. Eddie knows this.. This is AJ and Eddie's way of saving face.. Truth is.. They want to rebuild AJ.. make more cash with easier fights.. But they don't want to risk losing fans for not looking like they are doing everything in their power to make the fight..

They will have lawyers flat out trying to weasel out of the rematch .....I bet that’s why the Ortiz wilder fight keeps getting pushed back . They are looking for a loophole to get out of the contract

Its gonna end up in court
          1. If the rematch was set for NY or Vegas or LA, this wouldn't be an issue.

          2. Wilder pushing his fight with Ortiz to align with the rematch should Ruiz win is just smart business and brings us closer to a unification match.

          3. It's fair game for Hearn to try and stack the deck in the rematch...just like it's fair game for Team Ruiz to use all their leverage to prevent it.

He has Hearn by the balls, I can’t remember anyone with the gall to call a fight without the fighters present, its like a wedding reception without the bride and groom. I must say Hearn is bad news for himself, although an entertaining fool to a limit. Ruiz flattened and destroyed Aj and those that say Ruiz’s has no balls then I guess a fat and flabby nobody with no balls with last minute notice destroyed your boy.

He general public are so focused on contracts that they seem to miss the point. The contract is not everything, life is a game of poker even if you think you hold the best hand. If your opponent goes all in you may have to fold because you can’t risk the loss.

Hearn can not afford to loose - the lawsuit is worse for Hearn and AJ than it is for Ruiz. They don’t want that hassle they need those belts to keep the cash cow alive. No belts no money or well I mean who ever has the belts holds the purse, the power the negotiations everything.

Contract or not they gonna have to pay Ruiz some serious money because no one is falling for their empty threats. There no way Hearn will shoot his prize cow in the head by doing that move.

I aint no I tole ya so kinda guy:

Look...I try to get along with everyone here and I even like the diehard Brits... And I am more than willing to admit to errors of judgement, but it works both ways, so...As Yogi Berra might say: "I am going to repeat myself...Again." And its gonna be De Ja Vu all over again!

It is a customery and acceptable business strategy to renegotiate contract clauses when: The value of that clause has changed considerably. It depends on what the value of that clause is to each party.

Circumstances create options. Ruiz winning the fight made the rematch value change and if he chooses not to perform for the contract the problem becomes Hearn's. One way or another Hearns has to recognize the change in value, Lets remember that the rematch was already partially redone because this fight wa to take place in Wales.

If not Saudi, I'm sure they can reschedule it for Cardiff, where even though it's in the U. K., Ruiz should be more comfortable than in Saudi Arabia.

Hopefully they do pay Ruiz more and he signs . Can’t remember too many guys flaking out of a rematch contract I must admit
I think its dramatic to say no one wanted Hearn to succeed. No one gives a crap who gives us the good fights. We just want them.

It's just baffling that there is all this talk of Ruiz not honoring a contract and little talk of how much of a biitch move it is for Hearn to try and move the fight to somewhere where he can more readily influence the outcome of the fight (judges, training facilities, testing, etc). This isn't proper rematch protocol.
