I would not be upset with more 8 Round Bouts to be honestly especially when you're fighting on Network TV! It might actually force guys to push the action but also fighters take less punishment and will be able to fight more consistently which is so needed in boxing to be honest

So yeah Championship Bouts 10 Rounds, Non-Championship/Regular Bouts 8 Rounds would be OK with Me. I love boxing but 12 Rounds is doing nothing for me, even though Pacquiao vs Thurman was a very entertaining 12 Rounds
Shortened title fights have made fights boring .
The mover only needs to win 7 rounds and win the fight .
I call them the punchstats champions.
Tag , tag, hold, swing, clinch , feint a thousand times and not punch, grab and rinse repeat every round .

Now, let's remember some of the classics that ended AFTER 12 rounds or had a late rally .
Leonard-Hearns 1, Louis-Conn 1, Arguello vs Olivares, Limon-Chacon IV, Marciano-Walcott 1 and Paez-Grove among them. Those fight would have had different winners had they ben 12 rounders .
    Instead, they are now classics.

A lot of “boxers” also dont know how to absorb a punch or even get into proper condition, and the clueless coaches are usually the issue there. Dumbasses actually think being loose is good for absorbing a punch.

I’m not willing to shorten fights and ruin my entertainment for this. Revoke 40 year olds licenses, put a penalty on draining fighters or something, hire better refs, stop fights quicker. But not shorter fights.
Well I 100% agree with you there should be less license given out & old mfers & mfers who never win fights should be at the front of the line. There should be less fights okay'd by commissions too.

But you are never gonna be able to insure people enter the ring at 100% & all that other sh^t you bring up.

And idk that fights would be any less entertaining at less rounds than 12 rounds. Most of the time I think fights are decided going into the last few rounds & very seldom are fights on the line that late. In fact with less rounds you likely enhance the drama cuz there is more variance if you start slow or have a couple bad rounds. It'd just be different not un-entertainment.

I think you are on point with this. It certainly feels like this is the case. I definitely run into more younger people & girls who know about UFC than boxing. I wouldn't be surprised if the reduced fighting time is part of the allure. I suspect there are other things that make the UFC more compelling, but attention span is a sexy one.

It would definitely bring more variance too. And more L's to really good fighters which might kill the over importance on pretty records.

Yea for every fun 12 rounder there are probably 9 or 10 not so fun or okay ones. The winner is usually known well before we reach the 12 rounds anyway so we are just prolonging the inevitable.
