So what could Ruiz mean which would be relevant, the contract wasn't drawn up correctly, so it's void, as in the whole contract was void including the first fight? Doubtful.

It sounds a lot more like "The contract isn't what I'd like it to be", if so, that's a problem because you signed it already.

Again, be super easy for Ruiz or team to clarify Joshua doesn't have choice of location, they haven't, where as everyone else has said Joshua has. The IBF sanctioned the fight in SA, doubt they would do that without knowing it was sound contractual.
I think you're oversimplifying this for the sake of either the argument you want to make or to align with a desire for this Joshua Ruiz situation to be "easy". Contracts have words and no contract is perfect. The presumption that the rematch contract is somehow ironclad is baffling to me. It has been obvious to many that Team Ruiz has identified something in the contract that gives them leverage and they are using it in attempt to stage the fight where they feel it gives Ruiz the best chance of winning.

So the IBF sanctioned the bout, well that just means they are ok with Ruiz fighting Joshua for the belt before Pulev and that the terms of the fight do not place either fight at risk IN THE RING. Nothing more and nothing less.

"Not everything is correct in the contract," yet you put your signature on it you clown.

The cancer is spreading in epidemic proportions.

Ruiz just wants more money and the venue of his choosing...Hearn should just take him to court, win the case (because he will) and wreck his life.
Hearn wont do that because that wont get AJ the belts back and the belts are what they NEED. They still likely look at Ruiz as the easier of the big competition. If this goes to court and Ruiz loses, he gets stripped and belts are vacant. Since Hearn is being a giant **** to some of these organizations, AJ will likely be put to fight a Fury, Wilder or Ortiz possibly for one of the vacant titles as opposed to some can. Team AJ doesnt seem to want him anywhere near Wilder and Fury/Ortiz both pose huge threats themselves, so that's too much to risk.

If they are smart, they will not let Ruiz sit out and get stripped, they should work with him to get this fight for AJ and hope he can win ALL his belts back at once. Than they will either go into a massive cherry picking of cans to protect AJ and milk the cow so to speak, or they will cash that cow out and feed him to the Wilderbeast lurking in the shadows in a big (but not as big as it would have been had AJ not lost to Ruiz) unification bout.

The majority of folks don't realize and are properly intimidated. Hearn warning that he'd take legal actions is all part of the game. I'm sure there are exploits and a lot of statements in the contract that are too general. Any decent lawyer can probably disarm this contract. Especially over the location choice.
Nonsense. Sure, alot of judges are voiding non-compete clauses these days, but if you violated an NDA and shared trade secrets or information with your new employer you could ABSOLUTELY be held accountable for that in the form of damages........

Maybe Hearn didn't waterproof the contract enough, expecting an easy win in USA. All this is about having the mental edge going into the fight. Hearn will try anything to get Ruiz out of his comfort zone, while Haymon and co. will try anything to keep the fight in America. Ruiz has to be careful his silk sheets wont become too comfortable now. Hope the fight gets made without too much hassle.

Ruiz is coming across as a bit of a weasel.

              Honour your promises, fatboy.

I second that! AJ made him famous and the rematch would set him up for life win or lose.Don't bite the hand that feed ya.

If the world heavyweight champion Andy Ruiz is able to get Hearn to buckle and give more $ etc - maybe just to avoid the headache - then he’s smarter than everyone posting here

What about having class, as a HW champ ????

Ruiz is trying to stretch out his 15 minutes

He knows how the rematch will end
