Popularity absolutely generates bigger bucks on a fight to fight basis. That's how EVERY fighter EVER got to reach their big pay days.....and i saw fury and wilder. I dont know what you make, but to me those guys are making big bucks. Not only off of fights, but appearances. Why? Becauss popularity translate to big bucks

Sure, he should get more but he signed the contract knowing what was at stake. Should he win again, he'll command whatever he wants.
Youre not really being fair. Theres not many fighters that can fight absolute no ones and peope tune in

9 million is more than fair for a one time title fight fluke-winner. Wilder and Fury make less on average, dummy.

It's nothing about being fair to him. He has the belts so he has some leverage, despite how many people say belts don't matter anymore. But what commands higher pay is how many people come to see you fight. Not saying it has to be a complete no one but in order for us to see how big of a star he is, we have to see what he can do on his own now.

Thats going to come with time. But for now, his career is SKY ROCKETING. He went from being someone nobody has heard of, i mean his clout was so small he had to accept being a late replacement.
Thats as low as it gets in boxing. Ro HW champion of the world, late night talk shows, etc OVER NIGHT. And he only beat AJ. Ruiz is more know in UK than AJ is known in the U.S. his career has JUST STARTED so it would be unfair to compare him to any current boxing that already has established familiarity within the sport

It was a fluke. He had just dusted the canvas before hurting AJ. You'll most likely see Ruiz get KTFO in the rematch.

No it doesn't ,fighters like GGG Fury ,Wilder ..etc never generated the interest for how popular they are and Fury and Wilder together did not do good at all for a two undefeated heavy weights fighting each other, but A side Andy will be this huge star now? Come'on it takes years to built on it and with the right opponents. Being Mexican isn't going to make him this super star in one fight, show me anyone whos done that besides Buster Douglas off of Mike Tysons name, how popular was he when he fought Holyfiled ? No one even paid attention.

Popularity does not translate into big bucks, you need to build up a ppv audience ,have title defenses and be a brand face marketed a good amount of time, stop, everyone who really follows sports knows this. Ha

Lol that happens in boxing. You dont make Some one quit on a fluke. AJ had all the advantages, size, power, rest, training camp, crowd etc and got beat into submission. I wouldnt put any money down on AJ if i were you. The S.A fight is a cash out. AJ went from not wanting to fight away from his UK fana to fighting in S.A with no UK fans for a DUMB amount of money.. AJ is done. He was never really that good anyway
