If they are verifying a fight with the boxing public which includes the sanctioning and governing bodies as well as the athletic commission without it being legal ,yes they are. Really this forum just doesn't want to be logical, its alright ,that's why they exist.

This is very simple, fair or not:

Ruiz was making 6 figures in his biggest fights to date. He was actually thinking of quitting at one stage and joining his dad in construction.

He gets the opportunity of a life time to fight for the belts and life changing money. The rematch clause stipulations are pre-agreed. I bet he didn't think twice about signing that contract. At the end of the day, hes making $15 million in 2 fights, which probably makes him the second or maybe third best paid fighter in the heavyweight division, and one of the top 5 paid fighters in boxing.

Did AJ make $35m in the first fight? Yes. Will he make $35m in the 2nd fight? Yes. Did he work hard to earn that position? Yes. Did he beat good fighters along the way to give himself credibility? Yes.

Is it fair? I dont know

Should Ruiz honor his contract? Yes.

        End of thread.

You responded to me, not the other way around. You're emo, not me.

If he signed the contract then he should honor it. If he really feels it wasn't a fluke, sign the contract, beat him up again, and then make even more money after. It's pretty simple, I don't know why he's making it so hard.
            Great post, exactly right
