    Marquez KTFO'06 a tragic or a blessing?

the marquez ko of the pacman, was this a tragic or more of a blessing in disguise? looking back at it now, i believe marquez saved manny's career by sending him to bed early on the night of dec.8, 2012.

Had pac stay up all night that night i believe this would have ended his career early OR it would have took his career to a different route (a dead end street). where pac would have just kept going around in circles.

during this time, pac was looked at as indestructible, a machine, a work of art. all this was getting to manny and it was making his head grew even bigger than it already was. the ko gave manny a little bit of humbleness. it made him take a step back and really look at his career.

if it wasnt for the ko, i believe pac would have gone on to get ko'd in other fights against lesser name opponents, etc. because manny's head was getting so big that he was too much into himself. can yall imagine an asian floyd mayweather jr???!!! holy shiiet! suicide!!!

so the ko was more of a blessing in disguise because manny is still around, healthy and fighting against the top tier fighters in his division, where as for marquez, the man who ko'd manny, has been retired, body is breaking down on him, struggling as a promoter, etc.

I think it's a blessing... Hey, GrandPac survived without signs of any long-term danger after that fight... He also evolved into a more complete boxer than he was and it prolonged his career... Imagine if he fights the same way against Vargas, Matthysse and Thurman, chances are he gets hit more often and might get KOed (KD at least)... We may not even see him fighting at "this level" nowadays due to more wear and tear...

It was a neither. It was karma because it forced him to finally agree to fight Floyd. Remember he took this fight instead of the $40 mil, no ppv offer.

That isn’t relative to the discussion. His getting ktfo by jmm was embarrassing and didn’t have to happen.

You are giving him credit for turning down a fight with the best boxer in the world for the most money he had ever been offered. If it was anyone else but manny you’d be critical.
